Yale Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of WAR by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, running tonight, November 21, through December 13 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).

Center Stage will host a workshop of a new play about Chinese-American culture from today, Nov. 21 to the 23rd at the theater.

Fresh Produce'd L.A. presents the world premiere production HEY BROTHER by Bekah Brunstetter. Produced by Riva Di Paola and Lucas Dixon, the show will be directed by Alexis Jacknow and stars Lucas Dixon (Yale MFA), Graham Outerbridge (A.C.T. MFA) and Kahyun Kim (Julliard BFA). The show runs tonight, November 21st - Sunday, December 14th, 2014.

The Old Globe today announced it will present the Second Annual New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by professional playwrights, December 12 - 14, 2014.

New Georges will remount their critically acclaimed production of Kate Benson's A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes directed by Lee Sunday Evans in association with Women's Project Theater, January 12-February 7 at City Center Stage II (131 West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Marin Theatre Company artistic director Jasson Minadakis, managing director Michael Barker and director of new play development Margot Melcon announced today the winners of MTC's two new American play prizes, a program now in its seventh year. Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau won the 2014 Sky Cooper New American Play Prize and Martyna Majok won the 2014 David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize for her play Ironbound. The winners were selected from over 900 eligible submissions.

Coming up next on Kitchen Theatre Company's 24th Main Stage Season is Dominique Morisseau's explosive, uncensored Sunset Baby. A secret cache of letters brings together a 1960s revolutionary, his estranged daughter, and her drug-dealing boyfriend in this story of family and activism, revolution and estrangement. Sunset Baby begins previews on December 3rd, and opening night is December 6th. The play runs until December 21st.

Rising Phoenix Repertory and Weathervane Productions have announced that they have commissioned new plays from three female playwrights--Charlotte Miller, Jessica Dickey, and Sarah Shaefer--and that the plays will each be produced over the next two seasons.

Trinity Rep announces its annual presentation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, as adapted by Adrian Hall and Richard Cumming, directed by Taibi Magar, and featuring resident acting company member Fred Sullivan, Jr. as Scrooge. Performances run tonight, November 8 through December 31.

The Process Series at UNC will feature an engaging new work by an acclaimed playwright in November. Commissioned by the Goodman Theater in Chicago, Lauren Yee's King of the Yees will be performed tonight and tomorrow, November 6 and 7, 2014, at 8:00pm in Studio 6 of Swain Hall at UNC-Chapel Hill. The performance is free and open to the public with a $5 suggested donation.

The 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, presented by the National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT), kicked off with THE 46TH MINUTE, a concert hosted by Lindsay Mendez and featuring performances by Heidi Blickenstaff, Doreen Montalvo, Mamie Parris, Bryce Ryness, and more. Musical presentations started October 23 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) and included Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton. the cell will present the New York Premiere of HORSE GIRLS, a black comedy by Jenny Rachel Weiner. Directed by Sarah Krohn, previews begin December 3 at the cell with opening slated for Wednesday, December 10.
