A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will present The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, opening the A.R.T.'s 2011-2 season tonight, August 17 at the Loeb Drama Center. The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin, is adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and Diedre Murray, and directed by A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has scheduled two American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performances and two audio described performances of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess during the month of September.

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held daily for WICKED, which will be performing from August 24 through September 11 at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford.

After breaking box office records during its last visit to the Aronoff Center, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to Cincinnati, November 2-26 as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Cincinnati 11/12 Season.

Last night at the 10th annual Helpmann Awards celebrating excellence in the performing arts, Australia's equivalent of the Tony® Awards, MARY POPPINS set a new Helpmann record, winning eight awards, including Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical for Richard Eyre and Matthew Bourne and Best Choreography in a Musical for Matthew Bourne and Stephen Mear. Additional winners were Verity Hunt-Ballard for Best Female Actor in a Musical; Matt Lee for Best Actor in a Musical; Philip Quast for Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical; Stephen Brooker and Michael Tyack for Best Music Direction; Peter Grubb for Best Sound Design.

Cadillac Broadway in San Antonio and producers Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh announced today that tickets for the long-awaited production of MARY POPPINS will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m., Friday, July 15.

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2006 and 2008, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to Detroit with performances at the Detroit Opera House, December 7-31.

MOTHERHOOD THE MUSICAL is touring nationally to over 50 venues around Australia over 44 weeks. The show premiered in Melbourne in February, has toured to Tasmania, Perth & regional WA, Northern Territory, North Queensland and Brisbane and is currently in South Queensland before Northen NSW, Sydney, Regional Victoria and Adelaide.
