Tickets to WICKED, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ('My So Called Life,' 'Once And Again' and 'thirtysomething') based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, will go on sale Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. WICKED returns to The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts August 24-September 11. Ticket prices begin at $33 and will be available at The Bushnell Box Office, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, online at www.bushnell.org or by calling (860) 987-5900. Writer Damon Runyon invented Broadway - and Broadway invented the American Musical! Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will open its 2011 Nutmeg Summer Series with the classic American musical, Guys and Dolls based on Runyon's comic tales of Broadway running June 2-12 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre (Lower Jorgensen).

Caroline Sheen Wins Helen Hayes Award for MARY POPPINS

Last night at the 27th annual Helen Hayes Awards celebrating excellence in Washington, D.C. theater, Caroline Sheen won Outstanding Lead Actress, Non-Resident Production for the title role in the 2010 Kennedy Center premiere of the MARY POPPINS North American Tour.

CAPA, Broadway Across America, and producers Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh are pleased to announce full casting for the Columbus engagement of MARY POPPINS. Columbus' most eagerly anticipated stage production will begin performances at the Ohio Theatre on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, for a limited engagement of three weeks through Sunday, May 8, 2011. Opening night is Thursday, April 21, at 7:30pm.

Everybody's been talking about the animatronic pig which cost a reported £100,000 and we've now got the first photos from Cameron Mackintosh's new musical comedy BETTY BLUE EYES, based on the Handmade Film 'A PRIVATE FUNCTION' by Alan Bennett and Malcolm Mowbray. BETTY BLUE EYES is the first original musical Cameron Mackintosh has produced in ten years. It started previews at the Novello Theatre in the West End on 19 March and opens on 13 April.
UK Tour of OLIVER! in the Works?

According to Whatsonstage.com, Cameron Mackintosh's next big project might be a UK tour of his recent West End revival of OLIVER! The show closed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in January. Casting notices indictate that the tour will visit Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton, Edinburgh, Norwich, Plymouth, Newcastle, Leeds, Dublin and Bristol. An official anouncement is expected to be made by next week.

Andrew Upton's adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's 1926 novel turned play The White Guard, commissioned by London's National Theatre (where it played to five-star reviews last year), is presented in a new production directed by Upton at Sydney Theatre from 7 June to 10 July.
