Orion Ensemble Concludes Season With Works from Three Centuries

The Orion Ensemble's 2010-11 season concludes in May with a program featuring Mahler, Dvorák, Bolcom and Williams, as well as special guest artists. Performances take place May 1 at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva, May 8 at Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston and May 18 at Roosevelt University's Ganz Hall in Chicago.

NYFOS Presents PHIL KLINE & FRIENDS Tonight

On Tuesday, May 3 at 7:00pm, the New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) closes its 2010-11 season with NYFOS Next: PHIL KLINE & FRIENDS, as part of The Movado Hour at the Baryshnikov Arts Center.

Steven Blier & Darius de Haas Hold Concert for Launch of QUIET PLEASE CD

In celebration of their brand new recording, Quiet Please, renowned musician Steven Blier and celebrated vocalist Darius de Haas will present a special concert, featuring selections from the CD. The one night only event will take place on Thursday, April 28th at 8pm in the Merkin Concert Hall, located within The Kaufman Center (129 West 67th St.). Tickets, ($22 for orchestra, $18 for balcony, $11 for student/senior), can be obtained by calling 212 501 3330, or by visiting www.kaufman-center.org.

Emanuel Ax to Perform with NY Philharmonic, 428

Music Director Alan Gilbert, The Yoko Nagae Ceschina Chair, will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Messiaen's Couleurs de la cité céleste and Mahler's Symphony No. 5, Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 30, at 8:00 p.m. He will be joined in these concerts by pianist Emanuel Ax, who is performing his 100th concert with the New York Philharmonic on April 28, and who will play Debussy's Estampes for solo piano, and the Messiaen work with the Orchestra.

IU Opera and Ballet Theater Announces 2011-2012 Season

Four new productions and a collection of classics, including a reprise of Puccini's La Bohème, will take the stage at Bloomington's Musical Arts Center and the Buskirk-Chumley Theater during the 2011-2012 Indiana University Opera and Ballet Theater season.

BWW Reviews: 'Bari-Hunk' NATHAN GUNN Charms in O.C. Cabaret

I can't think of a better finale to Segerstrom Center for the Arts' 2010-2011 Cabaret Series season than the impressive Opera baritone hunk Nathan Gunn, whose 4-night O.C. debut set continues in Costa Mesa through this Sunday, March 27. But make no mistake-the man is more than just a handsome face. With a brilliant talent and an affable charm that far outstretched the intimacy of the Center's Samueli Theater, Gunn provided the O.C. with a wonderful last shot of testosterone to a terrific Broadway Diva-heavy season.
