Will Chase, who recently took over the starring role of William Shakespeare in the hit Broadway musical SOMETHING ROTTEN, has signed on for a recurring role on HBO's upcoming drama series THE DEUCE.

Singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson is expanding her skill-set, ready to join the ranks of Sara Bareilles (Waitress), Cyndi Lauper (Kinky Boots), and other pop stars who have recently crossed the bridge into musical theatre territory.

Everything is changing at the St. James Theatre! As BroadwayWorld previously announced, the smash hit musical comedy Something Rotten! has recently welcomed a slew of new principal cast members for its second year on Broadway.  The production now stars  Will Chase (Shakespeare), Catherine Brunell (Portia), Josh Grisetti (Nigel Bottom) and Leslie Kritzer (Bea), who were welcomed to the Renaissance yesterday July 18, and Rob McClure (Nick Bottom), who joined the cast just last month. Something Rotten!, the ten-time Tony Award-nominated smash hit musical comedy, will celebrate its 500th performance tomorrow, Friday, July 1 at Broadway's St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).

Discussions are now underway to bring Chase back for a few select episodes next season in order to wrap up his storylines.

He can play the suave leading man when called upon, but Will Chase is one of Broadway's leading rock star performers.

Broadway's ten-time Tony Award-nominated hit musical comedy Something Rotten! will welcome 'Nashville' star and Tony Award-nominated Broadway favorite Will Chase (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Rent, High Fidelity,The Full Monty) as 'Shakespeare' on Monday, July 18.

Two of the show's regular cast members, Aubrey Peeples and Tony nominee Will Chase will no longer appear on the series.
