Little Orchestra Society Presents THE ORCHESTRA - A HAPPY FAMILY at Hunter College, 8/27-28

The Little Orchestra Society (The LOS) inaugurates the 2012-2013 season with an audience favorite from its acclaimed Lolli-Pops™ series, The Orchestra - A Happy Family. Performances will take place on Saturday October 27 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and Sunday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th St. between Park and Lexington Aves.). The musicians of The LOS, led by guest conductor Philip Mann and joined by the colorful Lolli-Pops™ characters, introduce their musical families to yours, where the drums Bang, the strings Bow, the brass Buzz and the winds Toot.

Kathie Lee Gifford's THE AIMEE PROJECT - Formerly SAVING AIMEE - Set for Broadway Opening This Fall?

According to an Equity casting notice, Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman and David Pomeranz new musical, THE AIMEE PROJECT will open on Broadway sometime this fall at a theater to be announced. According to the notice, David Armstrong will helm, alongside Joel Fram as the musical director and Lorin Latarro as the choreographer. Rehearsals are listed as beginning in September of 2012.

WPPAC Presents PARTY WORTH CRASHING, Now thru 6/24

Over the past two summers, White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) has served as an exemplary stage for two extraordinary theater productions: Edges and Songs for A New World (w/ a 30-piece orchestra). These productions were orchestrated and executed by the New Musical Theater Series (NMTS) and were both extremely well-received. Now, the talented individuals behind this pair of unforgettable theatrical events have reloaded their creative cannons and are readying their third adventure for yet another summer production. PARTY WORTH CRASHING follows the lives of nine twenty-somethings as they go through the various life obstacles and emotional highs and lows that come along with finding happiness, self-acceptance and love.

Libra Theater Company Presents Shakespeare's 12th NIGHT, Now thru 5/12

Libra Theater Company has announced its Spring 2012 production of 12th Night by William Shakespeare. Directed by Evan Mueller (Amphibian Productions' Animals Out of Paper - "Best Of", Fort Worth Weekly), 12th Night features a talented ensemble cast including Drama Desk nominee Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love, Ars Nova) as well as original songs and music direction by Jeff Raab. The show runs tonight, May 1 through May 12, 2012.
