The record-breaking Chicago Company of WICKED is now presenting an opportunity for audience members and fans to get up close and personal with WICKED the last two Tuesdays in October. Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty, who originated the roles of Elphaba and Glinda in the Los Angeles production of WICKED, return to the production on Friday, October 31, through the end of the engagement at the Pantages Theatre.

Highlights include THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD NOT TAKEN, a one-night-only benefit performance featuring songs and scenes cut from early drafts of the musical, as well as two of New York's most recognizable landmarks going green in honor of our anniversary: on October 27, the Empire State Building will glow green for the night and on October 30, Playbill's trademark yellow banner will be specially printed green, the first time in the publication's history that it has altered its masthead.

Wicked, the Broadway smash musical and winner of 20 major awards, including a Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, is based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire about two witches in the Land of Oz. Composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz, book writer Winnie Holzman, and producer Marc Platt will discuss the process of adapting the novel to create the stage musical that would become a Broadway blockbuster. Producer David Stone was in San Francisco for the Homecoming as tickets went on sale for the open-ended engagement of WICKED, which begins performances at the Orpheum Theatre January 27, 2009. He was joined by cast members performing in Union Square for a group of enthusiastic fans.

Wicked, of one Broadway's most popular musicals honors its upcoming fifth-anniversary with a special re-release of its top-selling cast album. The new fifth anniversary edition includes the original Broadway cast recording of Wicked plus a second disc full of bonus songs, including pop stars LeAnn Rimes and Delta Goodrem in a new recording of 'For Good.'

Sunday October 26 is Wicked Day 2008 in London. This year our free family event will take place at Lindley Hall (part of the Royal Horticultural Halls) where peoeple can all come together to celebrate everything WICKED from the past year. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on September 5 for THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD NOT TAKEN, a one-night-only, all-star benefit performance featuring scenes and songs from the original drafts of WICKED. Directed by Matt Lenz, the benefit will take place on Monday, October 27 at 7:30pm at the Gershwin Theatre (222 West 51st Street). The evening's proceeds will be donated to the New York Restoration Project. Celebrity casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

The final block of tickets for WICKED at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood goes on sale Sunday, September 7.
