Gattelli & Flaherty's IN YOUR ARMS, Featuring 10 Dance Vignettes by Iconic Writers, Begins Tonight at The Old Globe

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

Auberjonois (Maraczek), Gavin Creel (Kodaly), Michael McGrath (Sipos) and Jane Krakowski (Ilona) in a new Broadway production of SHE LOVES ME, directed by Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle with musical direction by Paul Gemignani. This classic musical comedy features a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock.

American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21), for those who love the dance in Broadway musicals, will return to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue) after their sold out run last year, it was announced today by founder and producing artistic director Nikki Feirt Atkins.  Performances begin Tuesday, December 22nd and run through Sunday, January 3rd.  Tickets start at $10.

On the Twentieth Century Closes on Broadway

On the Twentieth Century, our final musical revival of the 2014-2015 season, closed on Sunday, July 19 at the American Airlines Theatre. The critically acclaimed production played a total of 144 performances from its first preview on February 12.  Starring Kristin Chenoweth and Peter Gallagher, On the Twentieth Century came in with a roar and was greeted with rave reviews from publications such as The New York Times, Variety, and Daily News. Audiences thoroughly enjoyed this 'screwball comedy' that was 'performed with manic energy by a super cast toplined by charismatic stars' (Variety).

Music Theatre International Chairman and CEO Freddie Gershon and his wife Myrna hosted eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the country for four days of classes and activities honoring them for working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups.  The event known as the 6th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP culminated in a gala dinner at Chez Josephine on July 11th.  Joining the festivities were Broadway greats Bernadette Peters and Brian d'Arcy James. Kristin Chenoweth, Peter Gallagher, Andy Karl and the cast of "On the Twentieth Century" kicked off their final week of performances on the Pool Deck of The Empire Hotel last night. The cast toasted their Broadway run while snacking on summer barbecue favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken skewers, dancing poolside and posing for selfies with the hotel's iconic neon sign.
