'Ye Olde MZ' found plenty of scandal at the Music Hall Royale. The actors' behavior, complete with scandals, meltdowns, and showmances practically cried out for a league of light chemists (some took to calling them 'paparazzi'). Ye Olde MZ captured a series of these shocking acts on Mr. Eastman's then-recent invention giving you a behind-the-scenes look at The Mystery of Edwin Drood that must be seen (by only the most intrepid of souls) to be believed.

According to an Equity castng notice, the New York Philharmonic's staged production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel (February 27-March 2, 2013) will feature choreography by Warren Carlyle. The evening will feature Kelli O'Hara as Julie Jordan, Nathan Gunn as Billy Bigelow, Stephanie Blythe as Nettie Fowler, and Alexander Gemignani as Enoch Snow. The production will be directed by John Rando, replacing the previously announced James Brennan due to scheduling conflicts, and conducted by Rob Fisher.

The former Rockette has done everything from Berlin to Sondheim to Wildhorn on Bway, as well as 'Rock of Ages' and 'Chorus Line'.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Erin Davie will join the critically acclaimed new Broadway production of Rupert Holmes' Tony Award winning musical comedy The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Betsy Wolfe continues as "Rosa Bud" through February 10th and Erin Davie will assume the role beginning February 12th, 2013.

Producers Alan D. Marks, Barbara Marks, Wade Turnbull, Steve Hendel, Ruth Hendel, and Tom Kirdahy have just announced that COTTON CLUB PARADE, the Encores! Special event that played two acclaimed runs at New York City Center, will arrive on Broadway this fall.

The new musical CHAPLIN, depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin, concludes its Broadway run today, January 6, at the Barrymore Theatre, after 24 previews and 136 regular performances. The new musical CHAPLIN will be produced in São Paulo, Brazil at the Teatro Procópio Ferreira in April 2014 by Chaim XYZ Produções. The current Broadway production will play its final performance at the Barrymore Theatre on Sunday, January 6, 2013.

CHAPLIN, a new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin played by Rob McClure, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Christopher Curtis, opened on Broadway on Monday, September 10, 2012. Warren Carlyle (Finian's Rainbow; Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway) directs and choreographs the production. Jack Viertel, Artistic Director of New York City Center's Encores! series, today announced the directors and choreographers of the Encores! 20th Anniversary season, opening on January 30, 2013. The Tony Award-winning series welcomes back directors Gary Griffin, John Rando and Warren Carlyle, choreographers Alex Sanchez and Joshua Bergasse, and Guest Music Director Rob Fisher.

Christmas Story, The Musical! arrived on Broadway at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. The new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, began November 7, opened November 19, and runs through today, December 30, 2012. Stars Stephanie J. Block and Will Chase of Roundabout Theatre Company's The Mystery of Edwin Drood will be interviewed on NY1's "On Stage" this weekend. Air times on channel 1 include Saturday, December 29 at 9:30am and 7:30pm; Sunday, December 30 at 9:30am and 7:30pm; and Monday, December 31 (Tuesday AM) at 12:30am.

Creator Rupert Holmes and star Will Chase of Roundabout Theatre Company's The Mystery of Edwin Drood will be interviewed on "Theater Talk" beginning tonight, December 28 at 1am (early Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS (channel 13). A Christmas Story, The Musical and STOMP Out Bullying have announced the Grand Prize winner of their Anti-Bullying Writing Competition, Ahmed Shayef. A 7th Grader at M.S. 577 in Brooklyn, Ahmed has won a walk-on role in the Thursday evening, December 27 performance of A Christmas Story, The Musical.

Yesterday the cast gatherd at DRG Records to record the cast album of the new 2012 Broadway production. The cast album will be a two-disc set that will also include a new Act Two opening number, additional ballet music from Puffer's opium den, an additional Act One track not previously recorded and eight tracks featuring the confession of each murderer. Rob McClure, the star of Broadway's CHAPLIN, has received the Clive Barnes Foundation Award in Theater for his outstanding performance as Charlie Chaplin it was announced today at a ceremony at the Walter Reade Theatre. The awards were established by Barnes' widow Valerie Taylor-Barnes to honor outstanding young talents from the worlds of theatre and dance.
