FST Ends Summerfest Season With THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (abridged) Opening 7/29

Florida Studio Theatre concludes it's Summerfest Season with Jess Borgeson, Adam Long and Daniel Singer's The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) opening July 29 and continues through August 23, 2009. Called a 'Fantasia of zany energy' by the New York Daily News, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) has 'a talent to mine humor through the bards own words and the antics of 3 comedic actors playing all the great roles,' commented Richard Hopkins, Artistic Director.

Cast Announced For OPERATION EPSILON Reading 7/27

The cast has been announced for the reading of Operation Epsilon, a new play by Alan Brody (Housewives of Manheim), directed by Andy Sandberg (Producer of Hair). This developmental reading is being presented by Ellen Berman (Enchanted April), and this presentation is supported by a grant from the Council of the Arts at MIT.

SOCIAL SECURITY Comes To Cape May Stage With Lynn & Ronald Cohen 7/22-8/29

PICT Brings DOUBT To The Henry Heymann Theatre 7/9-8/1

PICT brings John Patrick Shanley's searing drama Doubt, winner of the 2005 Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize, to the intimate Henry Heymann Theatre. The production is directed by Jeffrey M. Cordell, and features Pittsburgh favorites David Whalen as Father Flynn and Kate Young as Sister Aloysius, with Meghan Heimbecker as Sister James and Maria Becoates-Bey as Mrs. Muller.

Mauckingbird Theatre Co Presents NEVER THE SINNER 8/8-30

Mauckingbird Theatre Company will present John Logan's remarkable crime drama, Never the Sinner: The Leopold and Loeb Story, directed by Mauckingbird Artistic Director Peter Reynolds. The company's fourth production follows Mauckingbird's lesbian adaptation of Hedda Gabler (2009) and the critically acclaimed all-male versions of The Misanthrope (2008) and Shakespeare's R & J (2008).

Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER Comes To Arden Theater 5/14-6/14

Arden Theatre Company presents The Seafarer by Conor McPherson May 14 through June14, 2009. Broadway's recent Tony Awarding-winning hit features a collection of misfits playing poker on Christmas Eve in Ireland. A group of men, tied loosely together by their affiliation with misfortune, spend a boozy night playing poker.

Hugh Panaro Cast In Walnut Street Theatre's OLIVER! Opens 11/18

THE BLACK MONK Makes Original Cast Recording 5/25, Released On iTunes

Wendy Kesselman's 'The Black Monk', which ran Off-Broadway from November 30th, 2008 through January 3rd, 2009, featuring Austin Pendleton, Elon Rutberg, Julie Craig, and Scott Robertson - under the direction of Kevin Newbury and musical direction of Chris Berg (with cellist Arthur Cook), will be making an original cast recording on Monday, May 25th, 2009. The album will be produced/engineered by Grammy Award winner John Kilgore. It will be released online in the fall exclusively on iTunes, and a record deal is pending.

12 Choreographers Announced For The A.W.A.R.D Show 2009 9/4-9/19

The Joyce Theater Foundation (New York), in association with the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago and On the Boards (Seattle), is pleased to announce the 12 choreographers in each of the four cities who will participate in The A.W.A.R.D Show! 2009. The 48 participants were selected from a total of 218 applicants from across the country; one from each city will take home a $10,000 award to use toward the creation of a new dance work.
