The award-winning Langley High School theatre department will present its spring production, Lillian Hellman's 1934 play, The Children's Hour. Based on a true story and set in a private girls' boarding school in New England, The Children's Hour chronicles the lives of the school's two young, ambitious owners, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie. When their disciplinary actions against troublesome student, Mary Tilford, upset her, the bratty child runs away to her influential grandmother. Constructing a lie that Karen and Martha were seen having an affair, Mary's action soon becomes more than just a simple fib, causing parents to withdraw their children from the school and the owners to question what went wrong as the women's lives are shattered.

An all-new THEATER TALK features John Douglas Thompson and Terry Teachout, the cast and writer, respectively, of the new off-Broadway play, Satchmo at The Waldorf, now at the Westside Theatre Upstairs. A dramatization of the last years of jazz legend Louis Armstrong (1901-1971), the play was written after Teachout immersed himself in his subject for his 2009 biography, Pops: A Life of Louis Armstrong.

Long Wharf Theatre presents the world premiere of The Shadow of the Hummingbird, written by and starring Athol Fugard, with an introductory scene by Paula Fourie, and directed by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein.

Ain't Misbehavin' runs in the Stackner Cabaret through May 18 and opened Sunday, March 16. The Executive Producers for this production are Greg and Rhonda Oberland and the Associate Producers are David and Camille Kundert.

Hilton Worldwide today announced the signing of a new management agreement with PT. Bali Ragawisata for the first Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts property in Indonesia. Fifteen high school students received scholarships for successfully competing in the 2014 James C. Macdonald Fine Arts Scholarship Competition. Sponsored by The Alden at the McLean Community Center (MCC), the final competition was held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. MCC Governing Board Vice Chair Susan Bourgeois and Alden Director of Youth Programs Kathleen Herr presented the awards at the final competition-performance.
