Tracy Letts and Kelly Reilly Join LOVE IS STRANGE Indie Film

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts will join Ira Sachs's indie film LOVE IS STRANGE from Parts & Labor, alongside Kelly Reilly, Michael Gambon and Alfred Molina. Production is slated to begin in New York City this summer.

Breaking News: Tony Awards Decide Eligibility for 14 Productions Including CYRANO, ANNIE, DROOD

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season to decide the eligibility of 14 Broadway productions for the 2013 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2012-2013 season to decide the eligibility for the 2013 Tony Awards.

BEARS Receives NY Premiere at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters welcomes Sans A Productions with the New York City premiere of BEARS, written by Mark Rigney and directed by Kristin McCarthy Parker. BEARS begins performances on Thursday, March 14 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 31. Press opening is Sunday, March 17 at 3:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $18 ($12.60 for 59E59 Members). Red Bull Theater to Present THE DANCE OF DEATH American Premiere at Lucille Lortel Theatre, 4/10-5/4

Red Bull Theater will present the American Premiere of a new adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death by Mike Poulton (Tony Award Nominee for Best Play for Fortune's Fool), directed by Joseph Hardy (Tony Award winner for Best Director for Child's Play), for a strictly limited engagement beginning April 10th and continuing through May 4th only, at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th.

Review - Manilow On Broadway

I'm writing these words fully aware that there is no opinion I can express in the ensuing paragraphs that will ever have any effect on anyone's decision whether or not to buy tickets for Manilow On Broadway.  I don't mean that in a self-effacing manner.  I'm also sure that no one ever looked at an ad for Barry Manilow's current concert engagement at the St. James and thought, 'Hmm, this looks interesting but I want to see what Ben Brantley says about it before buying tickets.'

The upcoming installment will be held today, February 11 at 7pm and feature playwright Craig Lucas and director Pam MacKinnon of THE LYING LESSON, which begins previews at Atlantic's Linda Gross Theater on February 20.
