Cabaret audiences who fell head over heels for opera singer Janice Hall's 2010-2011 solo debut show—Grand Illusions: The Music of Marlene Dietrich—will get to fall in love all over again (and a new audience can become smitten for the first time) when Hall reprises her Award-winning show at the Metropolitan Room on September 13 at 7 pm, in the 12th installment of Stephen Hanks' monthly New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits Series (Associate Producer, Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD). Hall's Marlene Dietrich show is directed by Peter Napolitano, with Matthew Martin Ward as Musical Director/Pianist and Ritt Henn on bass and ukulele.

The Warner Theatre is excited to announce its 2016-17 Met Opera: Live in HD Season, featuring 10 operas, 5 new to the series, and 2 encores, streaming live from the Met. Giuseppe Verdi's operatic masterpiece La Traviata opened triumphantly at the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch last night to a capacity audience. This production marks a welcome return by New Zealand Opera to the theatre that, following an extensive restoration from the Canterbury earthquakes of the 2010s, continues to be one of the artistic jewels of the city.

In order to conserve her vocal energies in a season that has included numerous performances of demanding repertory, Anna Netrebko has withdrawn from three of her eight scheduled performances of the title role in Puccini's Manon Lescaut at the Met next season. In her place, Kristine Opolais—who starred in the premiere of the Met's new staging earlier this year—will sing the role of Manon Lescaut on November 21, December 7, and December 10.

Lawrence Edelson, Artistic and General Director of Opera Saratoga, announced the program for the 2016 Summer Festival, which will run from May 28 through July 17, 2016. The season will feature three new productions at The Spa Little Theater in Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, New York, along with a diverse slate of recitals and concerts at multiple locations in Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Albany.

On Sunday, April 24th Opera at Florham (OAF) held its 28th Annual Violetta DuPont Vocal Competition. This year, OAF experienced a record breaking number of applicants which yielded more finalists than ever before. The finalists competed on Sunday at Lenfell Hall in the Mansion at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Park Campus.
