The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, announced today the establishment of The Riki and Bob Larimer Fund, a major gift in the amount of $500,000 to be given over a 5-year period and to be put toward the development of new works for the York stage, and marketing initiatives.
This will mark Holliday's first Broadway show since 2001, when she played Matron Mama Morton in CHICAGO. To celebrate the big news, take your afternoon coffee break with the Broadway legend and some of her most memorable performances!
Beginning performances Tuesday, October 4, Tony and Grammy Award winner JENNIFER HOLLIDAY will assume the role of Shug Avery in John Doyle's Tony Award-winning production of the Broadway musical, THE COLOR PURPLE. HEATHER HEADLEY, who is currently performing the role, will give her final performance on Sunday, October 2.
