Chicago Shakespeare Theater Will Open HENRY VIII, 4/30

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces William Shakespeare's Henry VIII, the first professional Chicago production in 400 years since its debut at Shakespeare's Globe in London. Staged by Artistic Director Barbara Gaines in CST's Courtyard Theater April 30-June 16, 2013, Henry VIII features a celebrated company of artists that includes Gregory Wooddell in the title role and Christina Pumariega as Anne Boleyn. The acting company features an ensemble of veteran CST actors which includes Kate Buddeke, David Darlow, Kevin Gudahl, Scott Jaeck, Ora Jones, David Lively and Mike Nussbaum.
Frog & Peach Theatre to Present Weimar Vision of MEASURE FOR MEASURE, 4/25-5/19

Frog & Peach Theatre Company will present a Weimar vision of Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure' April 25 to May 19 at the West End Theater, 263 West 86th Street. Artistic Director Lynnea Benson directs. The classic will be set in the 1930s Germany in order to comment on the corruption and hypocrisy that underlies the smug patina of modern life.

Paul has today confirmed he will be returning to Italy to play at the Roman Amphitheatre in Verona on the 25th June as part of his new 'Out There!' tour. The Verona concert will mark Paul's return to Italy having performed in Milan and Bologna in November 2011 as part of his 'On The Run' tour.

Juilliard Dance Will Take Part in Canada's National Ballet School's Assemblée Internationale 2013

The Juilliard School has announced that from April 28th to May 4th, 2013 its Dance Division will be taking part in the second Assemblee Internationale (AI13), to be held in Toronto, Canada. Hosted by Canada's National Ballet School (NBS), the AI13 will bring together students and artistic staff from eighteen international professional ballet schools for seven days of intensive classes, performances, forums, and professional development.

Working Theater, the 28-year-old Off-Broadway company, in collaboration with Magnum Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the Magnum Photos legacy and supporting photography around social justice issues, have joined forces to present Ed Cardona, Jr.'s LA RUTA, a world premiere immigration-themed play that will be staged inside the trailer and cab of an actual 48' truck. An accompanying photographic installation about the immigrant experience will also be presented.

This unique collaboration will shed a deeper light on one of today's hot-button issues - immigration reform. Previews begin April 10, 2013 with an official press opening on April 18th. Tamilla Woodard, known for her innovative site-specific work (HOTEL PROJECT), will direct the production. The play will be performed in various communities throughout New York City in order to directly realize Working Theater's mission to bring theater to working people.
