Cameron Mackintosh announced today the first four cast members of his acclaimed new production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece Les Miserables, which returns to Broadway beginning Saturday, March 1 at the Imperial Theatre.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) will debut Theatre In The Rough with a script-in-hand reading of William Shakespeare's Richard III featuring Jeffrey Donovan of USA's Burn Notice. The reading will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 (7pm) at Babson College's Sorenson Center for the Arts, 231 Forest St, Park Manor South, Wellesley, MA. The reading is free and open to the public. A $50 per person donation includes VIP seating for the reading and admission to a private reception (10pm) with the cast at the Glavin Family Chapel at Babson College. Space is limited. The RSC announces today that it will publish music and speeches from its forthcoming production of Richard II on a new CD and for download from iTunes. The recording will be the first in a series capturing some of the live and specially commissioned music composed for RSC productions of all Shakespeare's plays, as the Company works its way through the canon on stage over the next six years.

Bloodthirsty old Scandinavia confronts sleek, modern Scandinavia in a beautifully costumed, paranoid thriller that lets 'Hamlet' live up to its reputation as Shakespeare's most suspenseful play. The production will be tonight, October 17 to November 10 at West End Theater, 263 West 86th Street.

Opera Exposures will celebrate National Opera Week by presenting a FREE recital honoring the legendary American soprano Elinor Ross on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 4:30 PM in The Music Hall at The Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island. The musical performance, titled Puccini and Duke Ellington, will feature sopranos Natalie Bergeron and Alicia Waller and tenors Carl Rosenthal and former professional football player Ta'u Pupu'a. Also performing will be the famous Chris Gillespie Quartet, who perform regularly at Bemelman's Bar in the Hotel Carlyle and a surprise guest who will not be identified until the day of the performance. They will be accompanied on piano by Mary Pinto. Dwight Owsley, Opera Exposures' Artistic Advisor and a well known New York bon vivant, will moderate the program, offering his unique and entertaining musical insights. The recital is being produced by Edna Greenwich, Founder and President of Opera Exposures.

A general rush policy has been announced for on-stage and box seating for the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe productions of TWELFTH NIGHT and Richard III. For two weeks only, from today, October 15 through October 27, all remaining on-stage and box seats will be sold for $25, available for purchase when the box office opens, for day of performance. Preview performances begin tonight, October 15 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street). Theatergoers who choose the on-stage seating will have an up close and personal experience with the productions, including close proximity to the exciting pre-show ritual of actors getting dressed on stage.

Casting has been announced for the national tour of 'The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess,' winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, which will open at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on April 23 and play through June 1, 2014. (Preview on April 22.) The tour, accompanied by a 23-piece orchestra, is set to launch at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre this November.

Marin Theatre Company continues its 2013-14 Season with the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of I and You by San Francisco-based playwright Lauren Gunderson. Running for a limited time now through November 3, this highly anticipated new play written by a 'rising national talent' (Creative Loafing) will be directed by Sarah Rasmussen, the resident director for Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Black Swan Lab, and feature local actor Jessica Lynn Carroll and New York actor Devion McArthur.
