With so many stellar plays, musicals, revivals and new works, both on Broadway and off, a slew of shows have gained recognition from the critics.

WICKED welcomes new cast members to the Gershwin Theatre beginning tonight, December 16. CAROLINE BOWMAN (Kinky Boots, Eva in the Broadway revival tour of Evita) will step into the role of Elphaba, and KARA LINDSAY (original cast of Broadway's Newsies) will assume the role of Glinda, directly from playing the role on national tour.

Joining the previously announced performers are The Drexler Sisters who will perform their show, A Very Drexler Cabaret; Broadway veteran Franc d'Ambrosio and his acclaimed show, Franc d'Ambrosio - The Phantom Unmasked; and The COMPANY MEN, America's favorite mashup group. The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra presents the 3rd annual Holiday Pops concert tonight, December 12 at 8:00pm at Hill Auditorium. The orchestra will be joined by the Boychoir of Ann Arbor, Measure for Measure, and the Huron & Pioneer High School Choruses. Holiday Pops is co-sponsored by the Bank of Ann Arbor.

The play's afoot! Sherlock Holmes battles one of his greatest mysteries to date at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a world-premiere adaptation from Tony Award-winning playwright Ludwig (Broadway's Lend Me a Tenor). Adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved The Hound of the Baskervilles, this fast-paced comedic tale of murder, intrigue and a wild hound is directed by Amanda Dehnert (Arena Stage's The Fantasticks) as part of Arena Stage's 65th anniversary season. A co-production with McCarter Theatre Center, Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery runs January 16-February 22, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.
Red Bull Theater to Present SHAKESPEARE AND THE JACOBEANS ON FILM in January

Red Bull Theater today announced a new three-part collaboration with the Shakespeare Society exploring Shakespeare and the Jacobeans on Film. The series includes a Shakespeare Society major member event (open to the public) and two film screenings. HO HO HUMBUG World Premiere Opens Tonight at Stark Naked Theatre

Stark Naked Theatre Company presents its first-ever holiday production with the world premiere of Ho Ho Humbug - a hilarious Christmas-themed comedy produced in association with Third Coast Creative. Certain to become an annual holiday tradition for Houston theatre go-ers, Ho Ho Humbug opens tonight, December 5th and runs through December 24th at Stark Naked's STUDIO 101. The play is recommended for audiences aged 13 and older.
