JPL Chorus to Join Donald Brinegar Singers in Concert at Pasadena City College, 1/7

Pasadena's Jet Propulsion Laboratory may be best known for its unparalleled scientific endeavors such as landing the Curiosity Rover on the surface of Mars, but on Tuesday, January 7, another side of the organization will be on display. The JPL Chorus joins the Donald Brinegar Singers for a choral celebration of winter with Epiphany. This free concert takes place at Pasadena City College's Westerbeck Recital Hall at 8pm.

The Little Orchestra Society Presents 'Music Under the Big Top' Tonight

The Little Orchestra Society presents Music Under the Big Top, an evening of entertainment and musical acrobatics for audiences of all ages at Damrosch Park, Lincoln Center on December 10, 2013. Los Angeles Master Chorale to Present REJOICE! CEREMONY OF CAROLS, 12/8

The Los Angeles Master Chorale adds warm musical cheer to the holiday season with "Rejoice! Ceremony of Carols," featuring Music Director Grant Gershon conducting four seasonal classics - Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, Respighi's beautiful Laud to the Nativity, filled with the rich imagery of the nativity story, Stephen Paulus's Christmas Dances, and selections from Vaughan Williams' Nine Carols for Men's Voices - on Sunday, December 8, 2013, 7 pm. The annual Rejoice! concert, hailed as "a grand display of choral magic" and an "enchanting way to embrace the arriving holiday season" (International Review of Music), is part of the noted county-wide "Britten 100/LA: A Celebration" curated by LA Opera. Gershon and KUSC Host Alan Chapman participate in ListenUp!, the pre-concert talk at 6 pm, free to ticket holders.

Boston Pops Holiday Concert Set for Jorgensen, 12/7

In a year when Boston reigns supreme on the World Series stage, the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra with Conductor Keith Lockhart will bring its winning holiday fare, complete with the trademark "Sleigh Ride," an audience carol sing and a visit from Jolly Old St. Nick, to Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at 8 p.m.

Delaware County Symphony to Present An Afternoon With Nina Vieru, 11/17

The Delaware County Symphony presents the second of its Chamber Concert Series for the 2013-2014 season on Sunday November 17, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre of the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center at Neumann University, Aston Pa. The concert will feature a recital of inspiring violin music featuring Violin Sonata No. 2 in F Minor by George Enescu; Violin Concerto in D Major (First Movement) by Peter Tchaikovsky; Polonaise in D Major by Henryk Wieniawski, and Carmen Fantasy by Pablo De Sarasate. Ms. Vieru will be accompanied by Ana Vieru at the piano.

The Barbican today announced a stellar program of events for spring and summer 2014, pushing the boundaries of all major art forms for its diverse audiences. This new program builds on the most successful year ever for the Barbican, with attendances for events at the Centre exceeding 1 million for the first time, an increase of 36% on 2011/12. In this Olympics year, box office receipts also rose 33%, and the Barbican's commercial income increased by 35%.

Music and Speeches from RSC's RICHARD II, Featuring David Tennant, Out on CD and iTunes Today

The RSC announces today that it will publish music and speeches from its forthcoming production of Richard II on a new CD and for download from iTunes. The recording will be the first in a series capturing some of the live and specially commissioned music composed for RSC productions of all Shakespeare's plays, as the Company works its way through the canon on stage over the next six years.
