Disney's Aladdin, a new musical comedy based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, opens tomorrow night, March 20th. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, the show features music by Tony Award and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Sister Act), lyrics by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (Evita, Aida) and two-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by Beguelin, and is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon). Brandon O'Neill, currently starring in Disney's Aladdin on Broadway as one of the title character's sidekicks Kassim, will perform the national anthem tonight when the New York Knicks take on the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden. Tip off is at 7:30pm.

Disney's ALADDIN, which is set to fly onto the Great White Way at the New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, ends its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre today, Jan. 5, 2014. The production officially opened on Nov. 21, 2013.

The New Amsterdam Theatre box office opens for Aladdin today at 10:00am. Due to popular demand - and just in time for the holidays, Disney's Aladdin is releasing additional seats for performances between December 17 through January 5. The additional seats will go on sale Monday November 25 at 9AM.

Casting has been announced for the upcoming national tour of Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT, the explosive Broadway hit called "wonderfully raucous" and "emotionally charged" by The New York Times and "flat-out electrifying" by the Boston Globe, which will make its Jacksonville premiere at the Times-Union Center's Moran Theater on Tuesday-Wednesday, May 14th -15th for two performances only.

On March 5-7, the electrifying cast of American Idiot took the stage at TPAC's Andrew Jackson Hall. The musical, which was inspired, written, and created by Billie Joe and Green Day, is a satisfying change from the typical Broadway show.

Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day's vocalist/guitarist wrote the lyrics for 'American Idiot' in the rock opera style of 'The Who', with songs that follow three disenfranchised young men- Johnny (Alex Nee), Will (Casey O'Farrell), and Tunny (Thomas Hettrick) as they attempt to leave their stifling suburban selves in the hopes of not becoming another 'American Idiot'.

A group of friends, loud music, drugs, sex, war and rebellion against parental authority. If you're thinking Spring Awakening or Hair, you're close, but just a generation or two off. This one is American Idiot, a Punk Rock musical featuring songs from Green Day and making a tour stop at the Bushnell.

One might expect the Pittsburgh audience who filled Heinz Hall on the opening night of the punk rock musical AMERICAN IDIOT to be predominantly young, hip and edgy Green Day fans. Not so. In typical Pittsburgh Cultural District style, the first night crowd seemed to be the usual mix of young adults, middle aged folks, and a fair share of senior citizens. Even a few pre-teens were present, albiet inappropriately so, as AMERICAN IDIOT's subject matter is extensively peppered with foul language, on stage sex, underwear brandishing young men and women, and unfettered drug use.

Presented by CAPA and Broadway in Columbus, the national tour of the explosive Broadway hit AMERICAN IDIOT, called "wonderfully raucous" and "emotionally charged" by The New York Times and "flat-out electrifying" by the Boston Globe, will make its Columbus premiere March 19-24 at the Palace Theatre.

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) has cancelled the Saturday, February 9 matinee and evening performances of AMERICAN IDIOT. A Monday, February 11 performance at 7P has been added.

Chrysler Hall is set to welcome the AMERICAN IDIOT national tour this upcoming winter, the punk rock adaptation of Green Day's conceptual album of the same name, from tonight, January 25 and tomorrow night, January 26th.
