Shakespeare & Company Announces Interim Executive Director Jerry Bilik

Shakespeare & Company's Board Chair Sarah Hancock has announced the appointment of Interim Executive Director Jerry Bilik, who joins the Company's management team lending his expertise and experience in the field to support the efforts of Artistic Director Tony Simotes, Managing Director Nicholas J. Puma, Jr., the Company, staff and artists, as well as the Board of Directors.

The Conservatory to Present JULIUS CAESAR, 12/13 & 14

Shakespeare & Company is pleased to announce The Conservatory at Shakespeare & Company's winter production of Julius Caesar, co-directed by two longtime Company artists, Andrew Borthwick-Leslie and Michael F. Toomey. Now in its seventh year, the Conservatory, a 13-week professional actor-training program includes 10-16 promising actors from across the country and around the globe. This year's program features a group of 10 who will expose Shakespeare's poetry-filled psychological drama Julius Caesar for three performances in the Tina Packer Playhouse.

Matthew J. Pugliese Named New Managing Director of Connecticut Repertory Theatre

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) Artistic Director Vincent Cardinal announced that Matthew J. Pugliese is the theater's new Interim Managing Director. Pugliese is stepping in to fill the role recently vacated by Frank Mack, who served for 10 years as the Managing Director of Connecticut Repertory Theatre. Mack will stay with CRT as Management Associate, and join the Department of Dramatic Arts faculty as Associate Professor of Arts Administration, as he pilots the schools' graduate online certificate in Arts Administration and the new Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration program.

Beginning today, July 20, the Company's non-union schools tour, the Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare, will perform a special 90-minute version of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Plunkett Street address in Lenox where the landmArk Theatre Company was created in 1978.
