The Broward Stage Door Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Tony Finstrom's award-winning comedy KNISH ALLEY! at their intimate Coral Springs Theatre #2 beginning July 10th and running through August 30th.

Set in the early 1900s, KNISH ALLEY! tells the story of a poor troupe of Yiddish actors on board an ocean liner, as it crosses from England to America, who work menial jobs on the ship by day and perform operettas up on deck by night to earn their passage to a new and better life they hope awaits them on New York's lower east side, on Second Avenue, otherwise known as 'KNISH ALLEY!'

Bristol Riverside Theatre will host its 4th Annual Jazz Weekend from July 31 through August 2. This year's Jazz Weekend features performances from Warren Oree & The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, the Eric Mintel Quartet, and guitarists Jack Wilkins and Howard Alden.

Rubicon Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN, which begins previews July 9 at Rubicon's intimate 200-seat home at 1006 E. Main Street in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. The show continues Wednesdays through Sundays through August 2, 2009.

Theatre impresario and Broadway producer Shelly Gross passed away on June 19, 2009, in West Palm Beach, Florida, after a long illness. With a career that spanned over fifty years, he created an unprecedented number of theatre operations around the country, produced shows for Broadway & National Tours and presented a who's who of legendary performers including everyone from Judy Garland to Bruce Springsteen. He was 88 years old.

The Rock Tenor makes its debut this summer beginning July 8, starring vocalist Rob Evan (Broadway performer and lead singer for the multi-platinum band The Trans-Siberian Orchestra), who conceived the show with director Vincent Marini (former Producing Artistic Director of New Jersey's Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center) officially opens July 15 and closes August 23. The Rock Tenor fuses rock and roll anthems, Broadway classics, opera favorites, country rhythms and classical melodies in a unique performance that showcases these familiar works in a whole new light. After a 48 year absence, Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the first new Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie as the inaugural production of the new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) beginning Thursday, September 10th, 2009 with an official opening on Thursday, October 15th, 2009. This will be a limited engagement through January 10th, 2010.
