On May 19th, the Boston Pops will feature the music of award winning pianist, composer Roger Kellaway at their 'Presidents At Pops' Gala. The piece is called 'We The People' with lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman and will be performed that evening by vocalist Patti Austin. It is the theme for 'Visions of America - A Photo Symphony' which was commissioned by renowned photographer, Joseph Sohm.
After 37 years, Jack Kleinsinger has decided to end his 'Highlights in Jazz' concert series. May 13, 2010 (the 300th concert of the series) will be the last 'Highlights' show. Kleinsinger notes that his decision was not an artistic one, but a financial one: 'If someone can come up with the financing necessary to produce the annual series I'll continue,' he said. 'But with cuts in arts funding and private sponsorships for jazz down it's not likely I'll continue.'

Two extraordinary careers, one unforgettable evening. Legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb and celebrated R&B singer Thelma Houston will perform together for the first time in forty years. Jimmy Webb is the writer of "MacArthur Park" - the famous song inspired by the park in Los Angeles, where a Levitt Pavilion is now located. Proceeds from the event will support the free summer concert series at Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park. Houston's first album "Sunshower" was written, arranged and produced by Webb. Together, Webb and Houston will perform songs from this critically-acclaimed album. Webb will also perform his classic hits which have become a permanent part of the American music landscape.
