Conceived from the creative mind of LA Culture Clash's Herbert Siguenza, A WEEKEND WITH PABLO PICASSO plays The Ricketson Theatre March 22 - April 28. Drawing on the writings of iconic artist Pablo Picasso, Siguenza creates a spirited celebration of the prolific artist's life, featuring a sparkling portrayal-and live, onstage painting. Former child star and teenage heartthrob actress/singer Renn Woods, best known for her roles as Fanta in the Emmy Award winning TV mini-series Roots, her unforgettable interpretation of "Aquarius" in Milos Forman's movie musical Hair, and as Dorothy in the first national tour of the Broadway musical hit The Wiz, has written a new stage musical, titled Sold: Renn Woods In Concert (A Play in Rhythm and Blues) adapted from her successful autobiographical one-woman show, A Diva Like Me. Musical selections from the first act of the new show will be presented for an invitation-only audience of theatre industry executives on Saturday, Oct. 20, 7 PM in PH1 Studio at Shetler Studios, 244 West 54th Street, 12th Floor (and short stairway to Penthouse 1).

San Diego REPertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announces its 37th season that opens with a significant work of Latino drama and continues with six more provocative and eye-opening new American productions. "Our curiosity about the changing world we live in provokes us to look hard and deep for those plays that take us to places we have never been and look at the world through eyes that are not are own," says Sam Woodhouse, co-founder and artistic director, San Diego REP. The search for the productions to be presented during the 2012-2013 season resulted in a collection of seven theatrical events that are about the quest of Americans to become their best selves, individually and together.

San Diego REPertory Theatre will be launching the Southern California regional premiere of the big fat, gorgeous musical HAIRSPRAY with a series of show inspired surround events. Admission is free to those who purchase tickets to selected performances. HAIRSPRAY begins in previews on Saturday, July 17 at 8pm with an Opening Night performance on Friday, July 23 at 8pm and continues through Sunday, August 15, 2010.
