Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will soon featureTony Award Winner Rosemary Harris as 'Eleanor Swan' in the New York premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink, directed by Carey Perloff. The cast will include Firdous Bamji ('Nikrad Das'), Bill Buell ('Englishman'), Nick Choksi('Dilip'), Romola Garai ('Flora Crewe'), Neal Huff ('Eldon Pike'), Caroline Lagerfelt('Englishwoman'), Omar Maskati ('Nazrul'),Tim McGeever ('Resident'), Brenda Meaney('Nell'), Philip Mills ('Eric'), Ajay Naidu('Coomaraswami') Bhavesh Patel ('Anish Das'), Lee Aaron Rosen ('David Durance') and Rajeev Varma ('Rajah/Politician'). The production will begin performances on September 4 and open Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Centre for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) just announced that Tony Award winner Levi Kreis (Million Dollar Quartet) will join the company of Violet as 'The Preacher,' beginning performances Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Violet stars two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, Colin Donnell, Alexander Gemignani and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry. The Tony nominated production plays a strictly limited engagement at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street) through August 10, 2014.
It is my great pleasure to announce that the eighth season of Roundabout Underground will launch with Little Children Dream of God, written by Jeff Augustin and directed by Giovanna Sardelli. The world premiere production will open in February of 2015 at the Black Box Theatre. Never have I presented a more aptly-titled show than Just Jim Dale, beginning previews this week at the Laura Pels Theatre. Yes, it's just Jim up there on stage, alone but for a pianist and a stool. But if you think that 'just' signifies something small, then you don't know Jim Dale at all.
It is my great pleasure to announce that we will be producing the musical On the Twentieth Century, with book and lyrics by Betty Comden & Adolph Green, score by Cy Coleman, and directed by Scott Ellis. Dinner With Friends, the second production at the Laura Pels Theatre in our 2013-2014 Season brought Donald Margulies' Pultizer Prize-winning play back to the New York stage. This production played a total of 99 performances from first preview on January 17 through closing night on April 13.
