The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Hot Latin Nights with the Mambo Kings February 16 18 in Red Bank, Newark and New Brunswick. From the sultry melancholy of Astor Piazzolla and the burning Afro-Cuban rhythms of Tito Puente to the rhythmic playfulness of jazz great Dave Brubeck and the pop strains of The Beatles, the Latin jazz tour features original orchestral arrangements and compositions from the US, Peru, Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico and beyond.

This January, Oran Etkin's Timbalooloo is celebrating the opening of its first flagship class location designed especially for young children and their families: Timbalooloo SoHo. To celebrate the launch, internationally acclaimed clarinetist, composer and educator Etkin will host a grand opening concert for Timbalooloo SoHo at City Winery on Saturday, January 13 followed by a parade from the venue to Timbalooloo's new Soho space for a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The concert features Etkin's award winning jazz quintet and his instrument friends Clara Net (his clarinet) and her mother Big Mama Tuba and offers a fun interactive introduction to the Timbalooloo Method, in which all the instruments come to life and talk through their music.

This intimate evening will feature jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater and singing sensation W McDonald, of The Voice fame, as they pay tribute to the legendary Ella Fitzgerald in honor of her centennial. In the spirit of the best traditions in jazz, both of these artists will perform their own inimitable interpretations of the songs made famous by Ella.

The Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company will celebrate its 45th Anniversary with performances of works by Eleo Pomare and company artistic director Enrique Cruz DeJesus, November 18 & 19 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Ninth Avenue & 55th Street. Two company premieres will be included in the program: the world premiere of DeJesus' Mending Minds, and the company premiere of Pomare's 1967 Las Desenamoradas, music by John Coltrane.
