Coming off of their Obie Award winning production of A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Great Lakes at City Center in January and the critically acclaimed Heartbreak at The Bushwick Starr in May, New Georges announces their final production of 2015, the World Premiere of HOW TO GET INTO BUILDINGS by Trish Harnetiaux (If You Can Get to Buffalo with Incubator Arts Project) at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn; www.bricktheater.com) as part of The Brick's Resident Artist program, December 3-19.

Buran Theatre & Friends will present a one-night only concert performance of Harry Nilsson's 1971 narrative album THE POINT! about a round-headed, pointless young boy named Oblio and his beloved dog Arrow.

Talking Band, the seminal downtown New York City theater collective, continue their 40th anniversary celebration with a gala evening that will bring together many of the countless artists with whom they have collaborated since Paul Zimet, Ellen Maddow and Tina Shepard founded the company in 1974. The event will take place Monday, April 27 at the Ukrainian National Home Ballroom (140 Second Ave, between St. Mark's Place and East 9th Street) in the East Village. Proceeds will support the Talking Band's artistic programs.

Since its founding in 1974 by Paul Zimet, Ellen Maddow, and Tina Shepard-all former members of Joseph Chaikin's seminal Open Theater- Talking Band has remained a cornerstone of New York City's avant-garde theater community. Ben Brantley of The New York Times recently called them 'one of the boldest and most venerable politically minded companies in New York experimental theater.' American Theater magazine has deemed them 'one of the most exceptional theater companies in the country.' The Talking Band celebrates their 40th anniversary with The Golden Toad, a four-part epic whose world premiere La MaMa presents January 23 - February 8, 2015.

On Saturday, May 25 from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., The Talking Band will host the event, 'Marcellus Shale: Looking Between the Layers, A Symposium on the Social, Economic, and Environmental Impacts of Fracking' at La MaMa (74A E. 4 St., NYC).

John Kurzynowski directs a cast of tweleve, including Harlan Alford, Jaclyn Backhaus, Mikey Barringer, Andrew Butler, Nick Fesette, Nick Lehane*, Emily Marro, Sydney Matthews, Anastasia Olowin, Patrick Scheid, Tina Shepard*, and Lauren Swan-Potras. This concert features Igor Stravinsky's 1918 L'Histoire du Soldat, song highlights from past productions, excerpts from Kurt Weill's gritty Three Penny Opera, and a short work by composer Sebastian Chang.

The Obie Award-winning The Talking Band has announced that power outages downtown will force the cancellation of 1st preview performance of the new play OBSKENE on Thursday, Nov. 1 at HERE, located at 145 Ave. of the Americas at Dominick St. Paul Zimet, artistic director of The Talking Band, said the company would decide on Nov. 1st whether or not they will be able to proceed with performances on Nov. 2 based on the availability of power in the Soho area.
