The New Victory Theater will launch its 2012-13 season with the U.S. premiere of URBAN by Circolombia, an edgy, thrilling and inspiring circus featuring young Colombian performers who share their real-life stories through acrobatics, aerial work and tremendous feats of strength. URBAN, which was originally commissioned by Roundhouse London as part of CircusFest 2010, will run from October 12 through October 21.
The Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced the addition of five intriguing fall and winter presentations from abroad for its 2012-2013 STC Presents Series. Three of the five presentations, hailing from the United Kingdom and Paris, will explore the psychology of war, the endurance of storytelling and the decadence of an era of aristocracy. Acclaimed as one of the classics of 20th century children's literature, The Mouse and His Child is a moving story about two clockwork mice thrown on a scrap heap who then have tobegin a dangerous quest for a place to belong. It is adapted for the stage by Tamsin Oglesby and will be directed by Told By An Idiot's Co-Artistic Director, Paul Hunter, who directed the RSC's recent Young People's Shakespeare production of The Comedy of Errors.

The festival is produced by REDCAT in collaboration with Center Theatre Group and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival (New York), and a consortium including Theatre Communications Group, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, LA Stage Alliance and the Los Angeles Theatre Center. $50 multi-event passes go on sale in April and will allow audiences to attend performances for as little as $10.
