Naughton and Woodward Join Cast of 'A HOLIDAY GARLAND' 12/13

James Naughton and Joanne Woodward Join Cast of "A Holiday Garland"at Westport Country Playhouse. Two-time Tony Award winner James Naughton and Academy Award winner Joanne Woodward have joined the cast of "A Holiday Garland" at Westport Country Playhouse (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director). Staged December 13 - 21, the production will feature holiday songs, funny stories, poignant readings, jokes and poems compiled to celebrate the season and enchant the family. Performances are Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 4 and 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m.

'PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY' Opens Tonight, 12/9

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) New York premiere of PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY, a new play by two-time Tony Award nominee, Pulitzer Prize finalist and two-time Obie Award winner Craig Lucas (Small Tragedy at Playwrights Horizons, The Light in the Piazza, Prelude to a Kiss, Reckless, The Dying Gaul) officially opens tonight Off-Broadway.

Lookingglass Theater Announces Casting For 21st Season

Lookingglass Theatre Company proudly announces casting for its 21st season, including participation from more than 25 company members. Ensemble Members Eva Barr, Mara Blumenfeld, David Catlin, Thomas Cox, Christine Mary Dunford, Laura Eason, Raymond Fox, Doug Hara, David Kersnar, John Musial, Dan Ostling, David Schwimmer, Joey Slotnick, Philip R. Smith, Heidi Stillman, Tracy Walsh, Andrew White, and Mary Zimmerman, with Artistic Associates Louise Lamson, Chris Binder, Sara Gmitter, Andre Pluess, Rick Sims, and Alison Siple and Production Affiliates Patia Bartlett, Ray Nardelli and Jonathan Templeton will participate in the season. Additional casting and company member involvement will be announced at a later date.

Sher to Direct Revival of Wilson's 'JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE' For Lincoln Center in '09

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that it will present a new production of August Wilson's award-winning play Joe Turner's Come And Gone, to be directed by Bartlett Sher this spring , while its production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific continues its run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Transport's BURY THE DEAD Filmed for NYPLPA Archives

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, has announced that its acclaimed production of Irwin Shaw's Bury the Dead, directed by Joe Calarco, will be taped for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Theatre on Film and Tape Archive on Friday, November 21th.

WCP Adds More Dates to 'Our Town' Celebration Honoring Newman

Westport Country Playhouse announced that due to the exceptional ticket demand for 'Our Town,' a joyful gathering at the Playhouse for the community to celebrate the life of Paul Newman, two extra dates have been added on Thursday, November 20, and Friday, November 21.

Transport Group to Present Revival of Shaw's 'Bury the Dead' Starting 10/31

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, will present the first major New York revival of Irwin Shaw's Bury the Dead, directed by Joe Calarco, beginning performances Friday, October 31, at 220 East 4 Street, between Avenues A and B (6 to Astor Place, W/N to 8th Street or F/V to Second Avenue). The opening has been scheduled for Sunday, November 9, at 3pm.

Westport Country Playhouse (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, and Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director) invites the community to 'Our Town,' a joyful gathering for the community to celebrate the life of Paul Newman followed by the film of Westport Country Playhouse's 2002 production of Thornton Wilder's 'Our Town' with Mr. Newman as the Stage Manager, on Saturday, November 22, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the Playhouse.
