Off-Broadway singer-songwriters Anya Turner & Robert Grusecki have added two additional performances of their highly acclaimed show at Don't Tell Mama: 'Hello, West 46th Street', an evening of new cabaret songs. The dates for this special holiday edition are Sunday November 20 at 7:30pm and Friday December 16 at 7pm. Today in 1978, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas opened at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers Theatre), where it ran for 1584 performances. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is a musical with a book by Texas author Larry L. King and Peter Masterson and music and lyrics by Carol Hall. It is based on a story by King that was inspired by the real-life Chicken Ranch in La Grange, Texas. The original Broadway production was directed by Peter Masterson and Tommy Tune and choreographed by Tune and Thommie Walsh.

Anaheim's official resident theater company, Chance Theater is pleased to present a fresh and intimate production of the Broadway musical classic ... A Chorus Line. Book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban, directed by Chance's Artistic Director Oanh Nguyen, choreographed by Hazel Clarke, with music direction by Ryan O'Connell. A Chorus Line will preview from July 1 through July 8, regular performances will begin July 9 and continue through July 31 on the Cripe Stage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

WBT to Offer Free Performance for Local Children's Homes

For the past 40 years, Westchester Broadway Theatre has donated a matinee performance of one of its mainstage productions each year to the children residing in the area institutions in Westchester County. This Year the children will be treated to our new musical production of 'SHOW BOAT'. THIS YEAR'S INVITES INCLUDE Andrus Children's Center, Children's Village, Green Chimneys, Sunshine Children's Home, Hawthorne Cedar Knolls, Pleasantville Cottage School, Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center, Lincoln Hall, Putnam Associated Resource Center, Cardinal McClosky Home and Diagnostic Center in Pleasantville. There will be over 400 children and chaperones attending this performance. Approximately 16,500 children & chaperones have attended since the program began.

NY Public Library for the Performing Arts Examines 'HEAD SHOTS' in New Exhibition

Almost as long as there has been photography, performers have used portraits to represent themselves for casting and promotion. In the new exhibition Head Shots: Performer Portraits from Daguerreotype to Digital, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center in Lincoln Center showcases its vast collection of head shots to illustrate the photos' role in the casting and marketing process, as well as how these pictures evolved alongside modern technology. Head Shots is currently on display in The Library for the Performing Arts' Vincent Astor Gallery, Shelby Cullom Davis Museum through August 8, 2015.

13th Street Rep Celebrates Ray DeMattis' 50th Anniversary in the Biz

The 13th Street Repertory Theater celebrated veteran stage/film/TV actor Ray DeMattis' 50th anniversary in the business -- honoring his lifetime achievements -- by proclaiming May 10th 'Ray DeMattis Day.' DeMattis was presented with a framed certificate of honor by one of his proteges -- Michael J.C. Anderson, an actor with the 13th Street Rep. And DeMattis, in turn, presented the first annual 'Ray DeMattis Award,' honoring young artists-to-watch, to actors Cody Jordan and John Brady, co-stars of Chip Deffaa's musical-comedy success 'Mad About the Boy.' They each received a plaque, a copy of a cast album featuring DeMattis ('Flora the Red Menace'), and a $100.00 honorarium.
