Singer Helane Blumfield returns to Don't Tell Mama in May with a new, second solo show, "Call Me H!"

"Call me H!' is a show about blending borders between genders and celebrating the men who inspire me," says Ms. Blumfield. Her repertoire is a mix of pop, rock and theatrical material, from Dar Williams' "When I Was a Boy" to "Moondance" by Van Morrison and "A Piece of Sky," the Legrand/Bergman/Bergman composition made famous by a gender-blending Yentl.

Helen Baldassare directs and Bobby Peaco is Musical Director.

Show dates are May 5th, 7th and 19th, and all performances are at 7pm. Don't Tell Mama is located at 343 West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. For reservations, please call after 4:00pm daily: 212.757.0788. There is a $20 cover charge and a two-drink minimum per person. Don't Tell Mama is a CASH ONLY ROOM.

Ms. Blumfield is a relative newcomer to the nightclub stage, or more accurately, a returnee. Having relinquished performing when she entered the fashion/lifestyle ad industry at age 20, she has been "ecstatically happy" and content throughout an extensive career as a Creative Director, which she describes as one of her two creative loves, singing being the other. Her career has included owning her own agency, SFI Creative, as well as a long association with Macy's, where she became a VP at age 28. She is now SVP Omni Channel Creative. "I'm incredibly excited to explore performing again," says Ms. Blumfield "It's joyful and powerful and revealing. I didn't realize how much I've missed it." Three years ago she began taking classes with performer/director, Helen Baldassarre, at the CPW workshop. In May of 2012, she debuted her one-woman show, VERGE, at Don't Tell Mama, and since then, she has participated with MAC Award winning director, Lennie Watts, in his popular workshops, The Arrangement Experience. This spring, she will participate in the Midwest Cabaret Conference with performer, teacher and director, Lina Koutrakos.

Jerry Herman described Musical Director, Bobby Peaco, as "the best show pianist I have ever heard." He has won nine MAC Awards and three Bistro Awards. Among a long list of major artists, directors, producers and shows, he has collaborated with Thommie Walsh, the Late Julie Wilson, Donna McKechnie, Cady Huffman, Jackie Hoffman, Terri White, Jane Summerhays, the late producer, Blake Edwards, producer Rosie O'Donnell, and the shows Ain?t Misbehavin? and Chicago.

Ms. Baldassare, a longtime entertainer in New York clubs, is also a multiple MAC and Bistro Award Winner. She has turned her talent for delivering a song into a second career as a teacher to aspiring entertainers and others who have a desire to communicate through song.
