Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures in association with Unique Features and Jujamcyn Theaters present Jordan Gelber (Avenue Q, All My Sons) as Broadway's favorite elf, 'Buddy' in the hit holiday musical ELF. He will be joined by Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) as 'Jovie' and Mitchell Sink as 'Michael' in his Broadway debut.
This weekend, ABC-7 will air a half-hour special on the best of the new Broadway season, including AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, ANNIE, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, CHAPLIN, DEAD ACCOUNTS, THE HEIRESS and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. The special will air Saturday, November 10 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Today in 2007, Young Frankenstein opened at the Hilton Theatre (now the Foxwoods Theatre), where it ran for 485 performances. Young Frankenstein is a musical with a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and music and lyrics by Brooks. It is based on the 1974 comedy film of the same name written by Brooks and Gene Wilder and directed by Brooks, who has described it as his best film. It is a parody of the horror film genre, especially the 1931 Universal Pictures adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and its 1939 sequel, Son of Frankenstein.

CHAPLIN, a new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin played by Rob McClure, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Christopher Curtis, opened on Broadway on Monday, September 10, 2012. Warren Carlyle (Finian's Rainbow; Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway) directs and choreographs the production. NETworks Presentations, LLC, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Unique Features have announced casting for the upcoming national tour of ELF THE MUSICAL. The tour kicks off at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) tonight, November 4-10, 2012.
The cast will be in the studio on Monday, November 5 to record a cast album. A release date has not yet been announced.
