Colorado Theatre Guild Announces Henry Award Nominations; Theatre Aspen Receives Seven

Aspen, Colorado (October 20, 2014) Theatre Aspen announced today that the organization has received seven nominations for the Colorado Theatre Guild (CTG) Henry Awards, for their 2014 summer season of productions, which included The Full Monty (by Terrence McNally and David Yazbek), Little Women, the Musical (by Mindi Dickstein, Jason Howland and Allan Knee) and the new play, The Cottage, by Sandy Rustin.

Parkening International Guitar Competition Hosts 4th Annual Contest This Weekend

The world's preeminent classical guitar competition, the Parkening International Guitar Competition, has selected 15 standout competitors for its fourth triennial competition. Representing 11 countries, they will vie for the largest prize purse among guitar competitions, competing at Pepperdine University from today, May 28, through Saturday, May 30, 2015, on the University's campus in Malibu, California.

CMSD Students Present MEMPHIS as 16th Annual All-City Musical This Weekend

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) will present its sixteenth annual All-City Musical, MEMPHIS to crown the District's 2014-15 series of All-City Arts Programming. The production features the talents of nearly fifty CMSD students from across the District and will take place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square, this weekend, May 22 - 24, 2015. Tony Sias, Director of Arts Education / Cleveland School of the Arts Artistic Director for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, co-directs the production with the CMSD All-City Arts Program's Managing Director, Kimberly Brown.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open the regional premiere of A Man of No Importance directed by Arvada Center Artistic Producer, Rod A. Lansberry in the Main Stage Theater tonight, April 28, running through May 17, 2015. A Man of No Importance will feature live music played by Colorado's legendary Irish-folk band Colcannon.

Saturday, January 31 marked the 42nd Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best in animation. The black tie event kicked off at 5 p.m. with Red Carpet arrivals and a VIP champagne reception, followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. and after-party immediately following the show.
