Gallery Players will open its 53rd season with Cabaret; book by Joe Masteroff, based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood; music by John Kander; lyrics by Fred Ebb.

Broadway in the Finger Lakes is at it again in bringing a new and creative musical to audiences at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, a theatrical gem located in Auburn's beautiful Emerson Park. The new musical Anne of Green Gables: A new Folk Rock Musical comes to the theatre directly from four sold out performances in Broadway in the Finger Lakes' 2017 theatre series, The PiTCH. The production is modern and creative and the show is truly something special.

The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival (FLMTF) has announced that Nancy Anderson will take take on the iconic role of Marilla Cuthbert in a developmental production ofAnne of Green Gables: A New Folk Rock Musical which features a book and lyrics by Matte O'Brien and music by Matt Vinson. The show runs July 5 through July 25 at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Emerson Park and is presented by special arrangement with Justin Nichols.

Born out of a tenacity desiring a very different kind of life, Melanie, Shay, and Laura have left the small towns where they grew up for Copenhagen, Los Angeles, and New York City.

The holiday offering from the exquisite John W. Engeman Theatre of Northport, Long Island, is an excellent production of the classic Tony winning musical Annie. Marking the half-way point of the Engeman's dazzling 11th season, this production is superbly directed by Antoinette DiPietropolo who also serves as Choreographer. Now I know you're probably thinking: Another production of Annie? Well, when you have a cast as remarkable as this, it definitely warrants another visit.

American singer-songwriter and the winner of NBC TV's first season of The Voice, Javier Colon, will star in Unquowa Repertory Theatre's inaugural production of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Big River in concert, led by theatre veterans Kirby and Beverly Ward, will hit Fairfield Theatre Company's StageOne for a limited run of four performances, June 15-17, 2017. According to the Washington Post, the national touring cast of ANNIE got heckled this week at DC's National Theatre. The heckler attended the show Tuesday night, and is said to have yelled, 'That was terrible!' from his seat, following the number 'We'd Like to Thank You Herbert Hoover.' There were no reported reactions from the cast or the other audience members during the incident.
