JUNIE B. JONES Comes to the Kelsey Theatre Today

There's big time fun in store when 'Junie B. Jones' steps onto the stage at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre.  Theatreworks/ USA presents the irrepressible first grader in her very own musical today, May 30 at 2 and 4 p.m.  Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

SDC Ratifies New Theatreworks USA Agreement

On May 11, 2015, the Executive Board of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) ratified a new four-year Theatreworks USA agreement granting SDC directors and choreographers increased compensation for workshop and tour activity and guaranteeing the right of first refusal for the first remount of a production following a premiere tour. SDC also achieved increases in both the choreographer's and director/choreographer's royalty participation. The agreement goes into effect on July 1, 2015. Theatreworks USA is an independent signatory of SDC that develops, produces, and presents theatre for young and family audiences throughout the United States.

Original Cast, Creatives Reunite for 10th Anniversary of NYTW's SONGS FROM AN UNMADE BED Tonight at SubCulture

Original ensemble members, Michael Winther, Kimberly Grigsby, Shane Shanahan are joined by cellist, Peter Sachon as they reunite with Pulitzer prize-winning lyricist, Mark Campbell and many of the composers for a special one-night-only concert event, celebrating the ten year anniversary of Songs from an Unmade Bed, the critically acclaimed, theatrical song cycle originally produced off-Broadway by New York Theatre Workshop in 2005.

Lauren Blumenfeld to Star in RICH GIRL at The Old Globe; Full Cast Announced!

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of an exciting new American play, Rich Girl, by acclaimed playwright Victoria Stewart, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. Rich Girl will be directed by James Vasquez (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show), and will play May 23 - June 21, 2015, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat to Host 17 Writers, Featuring Obie, Larson & Kleban Award Winners

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize. 

Christine Ebersole, Tony Sheldon, James Snyder, Margo Seibert and More Star in EVER AFTER, Beginning Tonight at Paper Mill Playhouse

Paper Mill Playhouse presents the world-premiere musical Ever After, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It), featuring a book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich. Ever After begins performances tonight, May 21, 2015, and runs through Sunday, June 21, 2015.

Married Stars Kier Dullea and Mia Dillon to Lead ON GOLDEN POND at Bucks County Playhouse

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) announces Bucks County's own John Augustine to return (The Hummingbird's Tour, 2014, Director) to the Bucks County Playhouse stage as 'Larry' in Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY, running May 29-June 21. Augustine will play alongside Broadway's Candy Buckley (Scandalous, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret) as 'Joanne'.

Rutina Wesley to Lead The Old Globe's TWELFTH NIGHT; Cast, Creatives Set!

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for The Old Globe production of William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night. Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on June 21 and run through July 26, 2015, with opening night on Saturday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

New John Caird Musical DADDY LONG LEGS to Open Off-Broadway This Fall

Producers Ken Davenport and Michael Jackowitz have announced that the new musical DADDY LONG LEGS will open this fall at the Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street). Based on the 1912 novel by Jean Webster, DADDY LONG LEGS features music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Paul Gordon (Sense and Sensibility), book by Tony Award and Olivier Award winner John Caird (Les Miserables), direction by John Caird, and will star Megan McGinnis (Broadway's Les Miserables, Side Show, Little Women). DADDY LONG LEGS begins previews on September 10, 2015, and will officially open September 27, 2015. DADDY LONG LEGS plays a strictly limited engagement through January 10, 2016. TheatreWorks New Milford to Present STICKS + STONES

TheatreWorks New Milford, in association with the New York Theatre Barn (The Barn), will be present a new musical performed by kids and teens called STICKS + STONES.  Written and scored by Joe Barros and Vince Peterson this show explores bullying through the eyes of children.
