Mile Square Theatre presents THE 39 STEPS

Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County's leading professional theatre, closes its 2017 season with a rollicking send up of Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller, The 39 Steps. Just in time for the holidays, Patrick Barlow's adaptation is a fast-paced comic romp that turns the classic Hitchcock's masterpiece into an evening of pure comic joy that will be a welcome treat for audiences of all ages.

Cast Announced for GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS at Imprint Theatreworks

Imprint Theatreworks is pleased to announce the cast of Glengarry Glen Ross by David Mamet, directed by Ashley H. White. Glengarry Glen Ross, which opens Imprint's inaugural season, runs from January 12th through January 27th, 2018 at the Bath House Cultural Center.

Michael Urie-Led HAMLET Finds Full Cast at Shakespeare Theatre Company

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) announces the cast and creative team for Hamlet, directed by STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn and featuring acclaimed actor Michael Urie as the tortured Danish prince. Shakespeare's most celebrated tragedy will run January 16-February 25, 2018 at Sidney Harman Hall.

BWW Review: LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS at Desert Theatreworks

Desert Theatreworks continues their tradition of a Neil Simon comedy every season with Last of the Red Hot Lovers. Written in 1969, it is Simon's nod to the Swinging Sixties, with a nebbish middle aged man making three attempts at having a sexual fling outside of his 22-year marriage. Although firmly set in the Sixties, DTW's production is fast, frisky, and very, very funny!

STRANGE LADIES By Susan Sobeloff Extended Through 11/19 at Central Works

The Central Works Premiere of Strange Ladies by Susan Sobeloff has extended and must close Sunday Nov 19 following the 5pm performance (originally scheduled to close Nov. 12). Strange Ladies received a visceral response from audiences and media alike at its premiere, and has experienced constant sold out performances. Described as a daring historical recreation... Strange Ladies is a call to ...mobilize for the complete liberation for all women in the U.S., now...making us want to stand up and join in, and The play resonates all too well our current political situation... As stated in the play, Those in power are not inclined to share.

A populist candidate, promising to return the country to greatness, becomes president of the United States, and then all hell breaks loose in It Can't Happen Here, a new play based on Sinclair Lewis' eerily prescient 1935 novel, adapted for the stage by Tony Taccone and Bennett S. Cohen. Virginia Stage Company to Continue 39th Season with 'THE PARCHMAN HOUR'

Virginia Stage Company continues its 39th Season with The Parchman Hour: Songs and Stories of the '61 Freedom Riders. Co-produced with Norfolk State University Theatre Company, The Parchman Hour journeys through the Deep South with the pioneers who fought discrimination and paved the way for the future. Written and directed by Mike Wiley, this play is adapted from real life accounts of the 1961 Freedom Rides and shares these struggles through music that ranges from spirituals to Bob Dylan.
