COMMEDIA DELL'ARTICHOKE to Play Gene Frankel Theatre in 2016

Frances Black Projects in association with CAP21 proudly presents Commedia dell'Artichoke, a new comedy about love, dreams, pizza and trying to make it in New York. This production, a contemporary take on commedia dell'arte - the classic Italian style of theatre with masked actors performing a blend of scripted and improvised comedic scenarios - plays January 15 - February 6 at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Bowery and Lafayette).

Baryshnikov Arts Center Stages World Premiere of Daniel Fish's WHO LEFT THIS FORK HERE This Weekend

Daniel Fish, the innovative director of theater, opera, and film, collaborates with designer Jim Findlay to create WHO LEFT THIS FORK HERE, a new interdisciplinary work inspired by the psychological and emotional themes of aging and mortality in Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters. WHO LEFT THIS FORK HERE is set for four performances only, tonight, December 9, through Saturday, December 12, at 7:30pm at Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC)'s Howard Gilman Performance Space, 450 West 37th Street.

Cast Announced for East Coast Debut of Lynn Nottage's SWEAT at Arena Stage

The new drama Sweat by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage (Ruined; By The Way, Meet Vera Stark) comes to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater following a critically-acclaimed debut at Oregon Shakespeare Festival as part of a co-commission between the two theaters. Hailed by The New York Times as an 'extraordinarily moving drama' that 'brims with the kind of ripe, richly imagined life associated with the work of the great August Wilson,' the play is directed by Nottage's longtime collaborator Kate Whoriskey and runs January 15-February 21, 2016 in the Kreeger Theater.

Actors Equity Foundation Announces Winner of St. Clair Bayfield Award

Andy Grotelueschen has received the annual St. Clair Bayfield Award presented by the Actors Equity Foundation for his performance as Launce in the Fiasco Theater's production of Two Gentlemen of Verona. The announcement was made by Arne Gundersen, President of the Foundation, and Joan Glazer, Managing Director.

Will Swenson & More to Join Christian Camargo in PERICLES Off-Broadway

Theatre for a New Audience, Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director, will present William Shakespeare's Pericles directed by Trevor Nunn, featuring OBIE Award-winner Christian Camargo in the title role and leading a diverse company of twenty-two actors. Pericles marks Mr. Camargo's third Shakespeare title role for Theatre for a New Audience, and the first time not only that Trevor Nunn has directed this play, but the first time he has directed a Shakespeare with a U.S. company.  The production begins previews February 14 and opens February 25 for a scheduled run through March 27 at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.

Nick Offerman Leads World Premiere of A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES, Beginning Tonight in Boston

Huntington Theatre Company, the 2013 recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award and Boston magazine's Best Theatre of 2013 and 2014, presents the world premiere production of A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by John Kennedy Toole, directed by David Esbjornson (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and All My Sons) and featuring Nick Offerman of NBC's 'Parks and Recreation.' Performances will run tonight, November 11, through December 13, 2015 at the Huntington's mainstage, the BU Theatre.

Kevin Bacon Stars in REAR WINDOW, Beginning Tonight at Hartford Stage

Hartford Stage presents the sold-out world premiere of REAR WINDOW, adapted for the stage by Keith Reddin, and directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak, from tonight, October 23, through November 15. Openign night is October 30.

KC Rep's World Premiere of BLUEPRINTS Begins Tonight

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2015-16 season and its commitment to the creation of unforgettable new plays with the WORLD PREMIERE of Blueprints to Freedom: An Ode to Bayard Rustin, written by and starring Michael Benjamin Washington and directed by the critically acclaimed Lucie Tiberghien. This story is more than relevant. It's riveting. Those who stand up for equality in 2015 are following in the footsteps of Bayard Rustin, the lesser known but powerfully influential civil rights leader who orchestrated the March on Washington and stepped forward himself as an openly gay man at a time when few had the courage to do so. In this ode, an exiled Rustin masterminds 'a tribute to the ancestors' 100 years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This exciting production begins tonight, Oct. 16 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 15 at KC Rep's Copaken Stage in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

Cherry Jones, Kathleen Chalfant & More to Star in WP Theater's DEAR ELIZABETH

Women's Project Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Maureen Moynihan, has announced the rotating casts for the New York premiere of DEAR ELIZABETH, the inaugural production at the WP's new theatrical home the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, 2162 Broadway (at 76th Street).

PTC to Present OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, 10/30-11/14

Outside Mullingar was nominated for a Tony for Best Play during the 2014 season. Playwright John Patrick Shanley won both the Tony and the Pulitzer Prize for his play Doubt (produced at PTC in 2007) and won an Academy Award for his screen play for the film Moonstruck.

Christian Camargo to Star in PERICLES at Theatre for a New Audience

Christian Camargo, who has played Coriolanus and Hamlet for Theatre for a New Audience, will take on another Shakespearean title role as Pericles in a new production directed by Trevor Nunn with music written by Irish composer Shaun Davey, the Theatre's Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz announced.
