Artists Rep announces Michael Mendelson will step in to play the lead role of Felix Artifex, as Todd Van Voris must leave the production due to a family emergency. Artistic Director Dámaso Rodriguez will now direct Mendelson and guide the show to opening as the production's Associate Director. Originally slated to begin preview performances next Tuesday, September 17, the run dates for Mistakes Were Made will now be pushed back one week. Preview performances will begin September 24 and the play will open on September 28.

For a legendary, platinum-selling Two Tone band, The Selecter doesn't really get the attention it deserves. The British ska-revival band formed in the late '70s and released a number of really great tracks, including tracks like “Too Much Pressure” and “On My Radio.” Notable also for being fronted by both a man—Arthur “Gaps” Hendrickson—and a woman—Pauline Black—The Selecter has influenced everyone from Gwen Stefani to John Lennon.

Shirley Herz, a legendary theatrical press agent, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School will be participating in events throughout Central Jersey this fall, including in the towns of Cranbury, New Brunswick, and Hamilton. On September 7, ARB will participate in Cranbury Day on Main Street, and advanced Princeton Ballet School students will perform in the School's beautiful Cranbury studio. The following weekend, ARB will be at Hamilton's Septemberfest on September 15. Later in the month, on September 28 at 4:00pm, the company will be performing at New Brunswick High School as part of the New Brunswick Cultural Center's Hub City Sounds arts festival.

American Repertory Ballet, New Jersey's preeminent ballet company, voted NJ's Favorite Dance Company in the Jersey Arts People's Choice awards, is delighted to announce its 2013-2014 Season of performances around the state. Season highlights include three major productions: the premiere of Artistic Director Douglas Martin's Romeo and Juliet at State Theatre in New Brunswick, with live music played by the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Kynan Johns; ARB's 50th Annual Nutcracker Season, which will span five weekends at theaters across NJ and include a “Celebrate the Legacy” reception; and Night of Fire, a program featuring the premiere of Martin's Firebird and the company premiere of Kirk Peterson's Afternoon of a Faun, at McCarter Theatre in Princeton. Film & TV veteran Bryna Weiss is joining the cast of DANCING ON NAILS, a new play by Paul Manuel Kane, for the final two performances tomorrow (Wednesday) at Theatre 80. She is replacing Lauren Klein (in the role of Luba Fogel) who had a prearranged departure after the July 24th opening to star as Linda Loman in the Denver Center Theatre Company production of Death of a Salesman, which is set to open next month.
