A Noise Within Presents THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, 4/17-5/22

A Noise Within (ANW) concludes its 2009-10 season with celebrated Irish playwright JOHN MILLINGTON SYNGE's THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD directed by Co-Founder/Co-Artistic Director Geoff Elliott, which opens Saturday, April 17 and closes Saturday, May 22, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, April 10). The once controversial play - which sparked riots during and after its debut in Dublin in 1907, was booed in New York four years later, and resulted in the arrest of the Philadelphia cast on charges of staging an immoral performance - has since been recognized as a masterpiece.

11th Hour Theatre Company Presents ROOMS: A ROCK ROMANCE 4/9-5/2, Tix On Sale

11th Hour Theatre Company is pleased to present the Philadelphia Premiere of Rooms: a rock romance. This musical will run April 9-May 2 at the Independence Black Box at the Prince Music Theater, 1412 Chestnut Street. The show will open on Thursday, April 15. Tickets cost $27 - $30. There is a three dollar discount for all tickets purchased online. Tickets for preview performances cost $19 - there is no discount on preview tickets. Tickets are available at www.11thhourtheatrecompany.org or by calling the box office at 267-987-9865.

Wizard Oil Productions Presents EMPIRE OF THE TREES 4/22-4/30

Wizard Oil Productions is proud to present the world premiere of Adam Kraar's new play Empire of the Trees. Directed by Sherri Eden Barber, this magical new play gets a 10-performance limited engagement at The June Havoc Theatre: Thursday, April 22nd - Friday April 30th.

Kathleen Turner to Star in Matthew Lombardo's HIGH at TheaterWorks, 7/9-8/22

Veteran actress Kathleen Turner will return to the stage in the role of a recovering alcoholic nun in Matthew Lombardo's world premiere 'High' to be presented by Hartford's TheaterWorks. The production is scheduled to run from July 9 to August 22. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. .

Joseph Kecker's Midnight Mass Plays Joe's Pub

Joseph Keckler will make his debut at Joe's Pub on Saturday, April 3rd in 'Midnight Mass', a special performance in recognition of Easter weekend, centering on the themes of sex and death.

A Noise Within (ANW) begins the second half of the 2009-10 season with WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE's classic comedy MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, directed by Michael Murray, opening Saturday, March 6 and closing Friday, May 21, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, February 27).

Hinkle, Hurwitz, Kerwin et al. Set for LCT3's GRACELAND

Marin Hinkle, David Gelles Hurwitz, Brian Kerwin, Polly Lee and Matt McGrath will be featured in LCT3's upcoming production of GRACELAND, a new play by Ellen Fairey, directed by Henry Wishcamper. This New York premiere will begin performances, Monday, May 3, open on Monday, May 17 at 6:45pm and run through Saturday, May 29 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project (229 West 42 Street).

Colin Hanlon, Jeremy Jordan Join CAP21's NEXT THING YOU KNOW Reading, 2/22

Broadway vet Colin Hanlon and ROCK OF AGES star Jeremy Jordan have joined the cast for the upcoming reading of the new musical, NEXT THING YOU KNOW. The reading will be presented by CAP21's Theatre Company. NEXT THING YOU KNOW is by the Drama-Desk nominated creators of I LOVE YOU BECAUSE, featuring book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham and music by Joshua Salzman. The reading is directed by John Simpkins.

Renaissance Theaterworks Presents AMERICAN FIESTA

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) concludes its 2009-10 mainstage season with AMERICAN FIESTA by Steven Tomlinson. Milwaukee Director, Jenny Wanasek will direct this play featuring John McGivern.

Columbia University School of the Arts, Theatre Arts Program Presents BLACK SNOW, 2/3-2/6
