Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter announced today the latest arrival to Grover's Corners: Academy Award-nominee Michael McKean will join the cast in the role of ‘The Stage Manager' in David Cromer's acclaimed production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, beginning June 2nd at the Barrow Street Theatre, succeeding Michael Shannon, who gave his final performance yesterday evening (Sunday).
Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.
Steel Burkhardt, original cast member of the current Broadway and London revival of HAIR, will succeed Will Swenson as Berger on May 31 at London's Gielgud Theatre. The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will bow early in the West End on September 4, 2010, producers have revealed. While the production was scheduled to run through January 2011, the producers have reportedly decided not to recast the show after the current cast's contracts are up on September 4. The production opened at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End April 14th, 2010.
