According to reports from The Star- JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will be the main musical featured in the 2011 Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Artistic Director Des McAnuff will be control the staging.
The 1st International Festival of Arts and Innovation will begin on June 11, 2010, at Chautauqua Institution in Western New York State in partnership with The Toronto International Film Festival (known as TIFF.365). The Humber River Shakespeare Company's annual outdoor theatre performances have become a popular summer tradition in the Humber and York regions. This year, the company returns for a third season with the touring production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, from Tuesday, July 6th to Monday, August 2nd. For the first time, the company will be touring in Alton, Mississauga and Caledon East.
Larry French, Broadway actor and concert artist, died in his sleep on May 28, 2010 of a massive heart attack. He was 58. A graduate of Howard Paine University, he first came to New York City in 1978 from Dallas, Texas, to pursue a career in acting, and shortly thereafter met his wife of 30 years, Jeanne Lehman French, in the Carleton Davis tour of CAMELOT.
Beginning previews tonight, May 28 at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival will be a new production of EVITA directed by Gary Griffin. The show will play at the Avon Theatre in Startford, Ontario. Starring in the show will be Chilina Kennedy as Eva Peron and Josh Young as Che Guevara. Juan Chioran will play President Juan Peron, and Vince Staltai will play Magaldi.

The Hypocrites, in association with Chicago DCA Theater, will close their run of the Broadway classic Cabaret on May 23. The production, directed by Matt Hawkins, played Chicago DCA Theater's Storefront Theater at 66 E. Randolph Street.

Tony Award winner Brent Carver is set to star in JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival beginning May 14. The musical revue features the songs of Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel. This production will be directed by Stafford Arima. JACQUES BREL will begin previews on May 14 and will officially open on June 11 and is set to close on September 25.

Cherry Jones will be starring in George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession, directed by Doug Hughes.
