Erika Henningsen, Jonathan Raviv, and More Star in SATURDAY NIGHT as Part of MUSICAL MONDAYS

Second Stage Theater has announced SOMMER CARBUCCIA, MATT DALLAL, JAKEIM HART, ERIKA HENNINGSEN, KENNEDY KENAGAWA, ALEC MATHIESON, SARAH NAUGHTON, GABRIELLA PEREZ, JONATHAN RAVIV, NATHAN SALSTONE and KYLE SELIG will perform SATURDAY NIGHT as a part of the special concert series, MUSICAL MONDAYS, in celebration of the acclaimed company's 40th anniversary. NOAH BRADY directs the performance on Monday, March 11th, featuring musical direction by ALEXANDER GEMIGNANI.

The Public Extends AIN'T NO MO' Through April 28th

The Public Theater announced today a one-week extension of the world premiere of AIN'T NO MO', written by Jordan E. Cooper and directed by Stevie Walker-Webb. Following its initial run in Public Studio in 2018, AIN'T NO MO' will begin previews on Tuesday, March 12 with a Joseph Papp Free Preview performance in The Public's LuEsther Hall. This vital new American play will now run through Sunday, April 28, with an official press opening on Wednesday, March 27.

Trinity Rep Announces The 2019-20 Season; THE PRINCE OF PROVIDENCE, RADIO GOLF, and More

Trinity Repertory Company announced the company's 56th season today. The season kicks off with the world premiere of The Prince of Providence, an adaptation by George Brant of the New York Times best-selling book by Mike Stanton about Providence's legendary mayor Vincent A. Buddy Cianci.

Guthrie Theater Announces 2019-2020 Season - CABARET, SWEAT, and More!

The Guthrie Theater (Joseph Haj, artistic director) today announced the nine productions of its 2019 2020 subscription season: Tennessee Williams' classic family drama The Glass Menagerie; Shakespeare's rollicking comedy Twelfth Night; an adaptation of Emma based on the Jane Austen novel; and Kander and Ebb's musical Cabaret will grace the Guthrie's signature Wurtele Thrust Stage while the McGuire Proscenium Stage's lineup will include Robert Harling's female-driven comedy Steel Magnolias; the regional premiere of Noura, Heather Raffo's complex tale of identity; Anne Bogart's acclaimed production of Euripides' The Bacchae; Karen Zacar as' comedic telenovela Destiny of Desire; and Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize-winning Sweat.

Max Vernon Returns To Joe's Pub With Lauren Worsham, Margo Seibert, And Larry Owens

MAX VERNON - the songwriter described by The New Yorker as "equal parts Bohemia and Broadway" - will continue his first residency at Joe's Pub, Existential Life Crisis Lullaby, on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00 PM. Following three sold out shows last year, he returns with special guests Lauren Worsham, Margo Seibert, Larry Owens, Maria-Christina Oliveras, and Darius Harper. The spring shows, directed by Ellie Heyman, will continue on Tuesday, April 23. Vernon received the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, three Drama Desk Award nominations, a Jonathan Larson Grant and the Richard Rodgers Award for his musicals The View UpStairs and KPOP, both of which had critically-acclaimed extended Off-Broadway runs last year. KPOP is planning a major new production later this year. Following a sold-out debut at the Kennedy Center in 2017, Vernon has returned to the New York nightclub stage for an exclusive engagement of high spectacle, high fashion, and high belted F sharps.

Cast Announced For WET's FEATHERS AND TEETH By Charise Castro Smith

Washington Ensemble Theatre has announced the cast for the Seattle premiere of Feathers and Teeth, the twisted horror comedy by Charise Castro Smith that grapples with the power of grief and the dangers of the other side. WET members Rachel Guyer-Mafune (WET: Teh Internet Is Serious Business, ACT: The Wolves, Book-It: Howl's Moving Castle) and Samie Spring Detzer (WET: Teh Internet Is Serious Business, Revolt. She said. Revolt again.) return to the WET stage to star as the creepy cool daughter/stepmother duo, Chris and Carol. Brandon J. Simmons (WET: Sextet, The Seagull Project: The Cherry Orchard, The Three Sisters) joins the cast as Arthur and James Schilling (ArtsWest: Peter and the Starcatcher, The Horse in Motion: The Great Noise) makes his WET debut as Hugo. WET's Associate Artistic Director Bobbin Ramsey directs. This is the second play by Castro Smith to be produced by WET; the world premiere of The Hunchback of Seville was the company's final play produced at The Little Theater on 19th Avenue East before moving to its current home, 12th Avenue Arts

George Faison Will Be Honored On March 25th At Lotus & Dance 30th Anniversary

Lotus Music & Dance will celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2019 with a benefit dinner and performance on Monday, March 25th. This year also marks the 100th Birth Anniversary of bharata natyam dance guru, T. Balasaraswati (“Bala”). They will honor legendary choreographer, George Faison with the inaugural Bala Award for Excellence . Other Honorees include Manhattan Borough President, Gale Brewer for her support of cultural diversity in the performing arts.

Obie Winner Renata Hinrichs Premieres RANDOM ACTS

Magic Window Productions will present the Off-Broadway Premiere of RANDOM ACTS, a drama written and performed by Obie Award winner Renata Hinrichs (A Simple Heart, Debbie Does Dallas, Einstein's Dreams). Directed by Jessi D. Hill, previews begin February 14 at TBG Mainstage Theatre. Opening is set for Wednesday, February 20.

DANCE NOW Presents ZviDance In On The Road At Joe's Pub

Pittsburgh CLO Launches Second New Musicals Weekend

Pittsburgh CLO will launch its second New Musicals Weekend, a project of the Next Generation Campaign's New Small Musicals Initiative. New Musicals Weekend, the mini version of the SPARK festival, takes the core goals of SPARK and puts them into action over just a few days. Similar to SPARK, New Musicals Weekend aims to develop new musicals for the CLO Cabaret by supporting writing teams with financial and creative resources and by building relationships with local and national artists.

Theatrical Adaptation of DREAMING IN CUBAN in Development

Cristina Garcia is officially adapting her award-winning novel, Dreaming in Cuban, for theatrical production. She is collaborating with Adrian Alexander Alea, who most recently assistant directed The Public Theater's A Midsummer Night's Dream, to direct and produce this most anticipated piece.
