Review Roundup: What Did The Critics Think of WHITE NOISE, Starring Daveed Diggs, at the Public Theater?

The Public Theater's White Noise, written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, and directed by Oskar Eustis, officially opened last night, March 20. The show just recently announced an extension through Sunday, May 5.

Don Nguyen's reading will help him polish the script for its world premiere at the Dallas Theatre Center, opening June  3- July 12 at their Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre. A highly comic take on the bratty coming of age of Kim Jong-Un, yes the very North Korean dictator we are all too familiar with. The #RoughReadings Series is a monthly series of new works by rising national playwrights. It is in its 12th year thanks to the National Center for New Plays at Stanford University. Come join us to listen to a new work in development, meet the writer, and participate in the creative effort of bringing contemporary theater to life. Like the Playwrights Festival the works are presented by Bay Area professional actors and directors. Two readings are held for each script. The Rough Readings are produced in partnership with National Center for New Plays at Stanford University. All readings are Pay What You Can.

Classic Stage Company announces their 2019-2020 season. Bookended by two John Doyle-directed productions-William Shakespeare's Macbeth (October-December 2019) and Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins (April-June, 2020)-the lineup also includes two canonical works of gothic horror: Dracula and Frankenstein, presented in repertory, January-March 2020, based on the novels by Bram Stoker and Mary Shelley.

WHITE NOISE Extends Again at The Public

The Public Theater announced today a two-week extension of the world premiere of WHITE NOISE, written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. Oskar Eustis directs this fierce new drama that began performances on Tuesday, March 5 in The Public's Anspacher Theater and will now run through Sunday, May 5, with an official press opening on Wednesday, March 20.

HAMILTON at Dallas Summer Musicals Announces #HAM4HAM Lottery

Producer Jeffrey Seller, Dallas Summer Musicals, and Broadway Across America announce a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (April 2) at Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas.  Forty (40) tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each.  The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM CT on Sunday, March 31 for tickets to the Tuesday, April 2 performance.  Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance.

Powerful drama: still made in America. Lynn Nottage's 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning play Sweat opens tonight in its Chicago premiere at Goodman Theatre. Ron OJ Parson directs the collision of race, class and friendship at a pivotal moment in America-hailed as 'extraordinarily moving' (The New York Times) and 'passionate and necessary...a masterful depiction of the forces that divide and conquer us' (Time Out New York). Sweat marks the fourth Nottage play to be produced at the Goodman, following Crumbs from the Table of Joy (2006), Ruined (a 2008 world-premiere Goodman commission that earned the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama) and By the Way, Meet Vera Stark (2013). Huntington Offers Free Tickets To ROMEO AND JULIET To All Young Patrons

In an effort to engage young, new audiences and offer the opportunity to experience equal representation on stage, the Huntington Theatre Company has announced that it will now offer free tickets to all young patrons 25 and under for the remainder of performances of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is now playing through March 31 at the Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston).
