The Old Globe today announced the appointment of a new Director of Development. Llewellyn Crain joins the executive team to help implement the Globe's strategic plan by leading and growing a comprehensive, modern, and sophisticated fundraising program to support the theatre's 15 acclaimed annual productions and the wide variety of continually evolving and innovative arts engagement programs.

The Old Globe welcomes the Arena Stage production of Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright's thrilling new play CAMP DAVID, directed by Arena Stage's artistic director, Molly Smith. The West Coast premiere of CAMP DAVID will play May 13 - June 19, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. The Old Globe presents the Arena Stage production of Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright's thrilling new play CAMP DAVID, directed by Arena Stage's artistic director, Molly Smith.

Arguably one of the most complex and intriguing female characters ever written, HEDDA GABLER weaves a mesmerizing tale of a woman trapped in a loveless marriage who is driven by a need for power and freedom. Working from a freshly translated script by Anne-Charlotte Harvey that removes stilted language while staying true to Ibsen's voice, the actors have put their personal touches on their characters to create a piece that speaks to contemporary audiences. Lovers of classic theatre will not want to miss this gripping world premiere translation.

As the head of the class at School of Rock, Alex Brightman creates a rock concert every night for the audience at the Winter Garden Theatre. His take on Dewey Finn (or Mr. Schneebly) has earned him his first Tony nomination for Best Performance by and Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical and he doesn't quite know how to properly celebrate. The Drama League today announced the new team to replace longtime artistic director Roger T. Danforth, who departs the storied company this summer. Travis LeMont Ballenger has been named to the newly created position of Associate Producer, and Sherri Eden Barber will assume the role of Program Director. Gabriel Stelian-Shanks will see his position expanded to the role of Executive Artistic Director

Cutting Ball Theater closes its 17th season, dedicated to dreams, with August Strindberg's A DREAMPLAY.

Following its initial casting announcement in April, The Muny announced today additional principal cast members for its spectacular 98th season. The 2016 Muny season opens with The Wizard of Oz followed by 42nd Street and The Music Man. The season includes the premieres of the popular Mel Brooks comedy, Young Frankenstein and world-wide megahit, Mamma Mia!, and closes with Fiddler on the Roof and Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida.

In conjunction with the West Coast premiere of Camp David, The Old Globe will hold a free screening of the film The Citizen Egyptian film star and political activist Khaled Nabawy, who stars as Anwar Sadat in the Globe's production of Camp David. The film, which explores the search for the American Dream within the American reality, will screen on Monday, May 23, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in the Globe's Hattox Hall. KPBS Arts & Culture Reporter and Cinema Junkie Beth Accomando will introduce the film and moderate a short Q&A discussion with Nabawy immediately after.
