The Joyce Theater Foundation, Linda Shelton Executive Director, proudly kicks-off its 2015 fall season on September 22 with a world premiere by Camille A. Brown & Dancers. The work, BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play, will be performed by an all-female cast during the company's week-long engagement at The Joyce, which runs through September 27. Liz Gerring, the 2015 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award winner and artistic director of Liz Gerring Dance Company, returns to Jacob's Pillow for her company's performances of glacier, August 19-23 in the Doris Duke Theatre. Gerring has garnered praise by dance enthusiasts and critics alike for her abstract choreographic style and keen use of musical and visual elements.

Starting off its 10th anniversary Fall 2015 season, Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) presents the New York Premiere of Joanna Kotze's FIND YOURSELF HERE, September 17-19 at 7:30PM in the Howard Gilman Performance Space. FIND YOURSELF HERE is a work performed by a sextet of dancers and visual artists who use movement to explore the complexities and possibilities of multi-disciplinary performance.

American Repertory Ballet, New Jersey's preeminent classical and contemporary ballet company, will perform throughout New Jersey - in Princeton, New Brunswick, Lawrenceville, Branchburg, Rahway, Manasquan, South Orange, and Trenton - and at the Joyce Theater in New York City from September 2015 through April 2016. The performance season will open on September 24 at Rider University Bart Luedeke Center with an open rehearsal and State of the Art Address, celebrating 5 years of Artistic Director Douglas Martin's artistic leadership.

Dixon Place's dance commission, Mark Dendy Project's WHISTLEBLOWER, written, choreographed and directed by Bessie and Obie award winner Mark Dendy, will have its world premiere on Friday, September 11th at 7:30 PM. With his company of dancers and original music by Heather Christian, Dendy, explores the actions and sexual orientation of renowned dissident Bradley/Chelsea Manning.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, announced today that due to altitude sickness that also caused her to cancel scheduled performances at the recent Vail International Dance Festival, Sara Mearns will be unable to appear in the August 13 and 14 performances of The Joyce's current Ballet Festival. American Ballet Theatre dancer Stephanie Williams will take her place in the work, Partita No. 2 in C Minor, by choreographer Emery LeCrone.

On Saturday, August 8, 2015, The Ashley Bouder Project presented their first of two performances participating in the Joyce Theater's Ballet Festival. Joining Bouder, a principal of New York City Ballet, were 7 other New York City Ballet dancers. It is good to see accomplished ballet dancers given the opportunity to perform more contemporary styles. The performance, consisting of three pieces, was one hour, with no intermission.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, the Joyce Theater opened its Ballet Festival with MOVE: the company. Joshua Beamish , Choreographer and Artistic Director, has been touring extensively with his company since its founding in 2005; and has been collaborating with notable companies, schools, and principal dancers ever since. This performance was especially inviting, as many of his dancers perform with American Ballet Theatre and other top companies. It was fun to see soloists and corps de ballet members having the opportunity to shine, dancing contemporary ballet works using their technical prowess and, in some cases, expressiveness.

Instead of creating the expected for her 50th Anniversary Tour -- a retrospective of her greatest hits -- Twyla Tharp's restless spirit demanded she choreograph two brand new works for her troupe of 13 dancers. The ten-week cross-country celebration, which showcases the two new dances, "Preludes and Fugues" and "Yowzie", opens at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, presented by TITAS, in Dallas on September 18-19 and concludes at Lincoln Center's Koch Theater, November 17-22.

A charismatic new force in contemporary dance, Havana-based Malpaso Dance Company comes to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival's intimate Ted Shawn Theatre, this weekend, August 5-9.

San Francisco, CA, August 4, 2015 – Artistic Director and choreographer Charles Anderson's award-winning Company C Contemporary Ballet will present the world premiere of his new, evening-length story ballet, Arcane: A Tale of All Hallows' Eve in seven performances October 24-31 at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco. The production features an original story and choreography by Anderson, a commissioned musical score by Mike Krisukas of Zen for Primates, steam punk-inspired set and lighting designs by Patrick Toebe and the costumes by Laura Hazlet and will be performed by a company of 16 dancers, 9 musicians and narrator. Performances will be given Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm; Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm; Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 7:00 pm; Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 am; Friday, October 30, 2015 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00 pm and Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 7:00 pm. There will be receptions for the audience and artists after the opening night and closing night performances with no-host bar. Ballet Memphis, under the artistic direction ofDorothy Gunther Pugh, will return to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue) for the first time since 2007 for a limited run this October.  Performances begin Tuesday, October 27th and run through Sunday, November 1st.  Tickets start at $10.

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival presents the highly-anticipated world premiere of Daniil Simkin's INTENSIO, featuring the remarkable talent of eight American Ballet Theatre (ABT) stars and guest artist Céline Cassone of Les Ballet Jazz de Montréal in the intimate Ted Shawn Theatre, July 22-26. INTENSIO, co-produced, directed by, and starring ABT principal dancer Daniil Simkin, features four world premiere contemporary dance works by top-notch international choreographers including Alexander Ekman of Sweden, American dancemaker Gregory Dolbashian, resident Boston Ballet choreographer Jorma Elo of Finland, and Colombo-Belgian artist Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, currently based in Amsterdam.
