Matrix Theatre Company is delighted to announce an exciting special program, a playwriting intensive with award-winning playwright, Noah Haidle, running through the summer and fall of 2016. The Playwriting Intensive with Noah Haidle is for youth ages 14 – 18, and runs Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, July 18 through October 22.

 The “nationally regarded” Fulton Theatre and Maine State Music Theatre present the exclusive premiere of the new chamber version of Ghost: The Musical through May 14 (Performances at Maine State Music Theatre are June 8 – June 25, 2016). The romantic and heart-wrenching story will feature a cast of 10, focusing on the central characters of the original story, with a 6 piece orchestra. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce that award-winning actress, playwright and director Regina Taylor will be narrating poems of Dr. Maya Angelou during the world premiere performances of newly-commissioned orchestral works this weekend, Nov. 13-14 at historic Music Hall.

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce that award-winning actress, playwright and director Regina Taylor will be narrating poems of Dr. Maya Angelou during the world premiere performances of newly-commissioned orchestral works Nov. 13-14 at historic Music Hall. The works, written by pre-eminent American composers Jonathan Bailey Holland, Kristin Kuster and T.J. Cole, are based on Dr. Angelou's poems “Forgive,” “Elegy” and “Equality,” which Ms. Taylor will narrate as part of the performance of the works. The concerts (11 a.m. Nov. 13 and 8 p.m. Nov. 14) mark the culmination of the CSO's annual One City, One Symphony initiative, designed to bring people together through music. Also on the concert program is Dvo?ák's beloved Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”) and Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 2. 

3Arts is honored to announce the ten recipients of its 8th annual 3Arts Awards, presented to women artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities working in the performing, teaching, and visual arts. The 2015 recipients are: dancer Kris Lenzo and choreographer Stephanie Martinez; vocalist Frank Waln and instrumentalist Chihsuan Yang; teaching artists Benji Hart and Chris Silva; actors Allen Gilmore and Fawzia Mirza; and visual artists Cheryl Pope and Fo Wilson. 3Arts Awards honorees each receive an unrestricted $25,000 award to put to use according to their individual needs and priorities. To date, the Chicago-based, nonprofit granting organization 3Arts has awarded over $1.5 million in total grants to more than 100 Chicago artists in the past eight years.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a cherished tradition that has become Chicago's definitive family holiday production, will be presented from November 18 through December 23, 2014 at Drury Lane Theatre for Young Adults, 100 Drury Lane. The joyful Charles Dickens classic, which has played for more than 25 years on the Drury Lane stage, is directed by Scott Calcagno (A Christmas Carol and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Drury Lane Theatre, Legally Blonde at The Civic Theatre, and Grease at The Long Lake Theatre). Over 30 colorful Dickensian characters are brought to life on stage in this uplifting tale of hope and redemption.
