The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey completes its 2014 - 2015 Main Stage season with A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD. Based on the hit ABC television show "Happy Days," the musical features a book by the series' original creator Garry Marshall, with music and lyrics by Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winner Paul Williams. Happy Days is directed by longtime Twin Cities' director and actor Joe Hendren working with MMT's artistic director, Christian Unser.

The Children's Theater Foundation of America (CTFA) has announced that Barry Kornhauser of Millersville University, a nationally recognized playwright, director and educator has been named the recipient of its 2014 Medallion Award. The Award is regarded as the highest honor in the field of Theater for Young Audiences. This year's ceremony - where the award will be officially announced and presented -- will take place in the Imperial Ballroom of the Denver Hyatt at the annual American Alliance for Theatre and Education national conference in Denver, Colorado on Friday, August 1. Kornhauser will be attending to accept his award.
Premiere Stages at Kean University will launch its much-anticipated 10th Anniversary Season with a free staged reading of Vincent Delaney's fascinating new play, The Ansel Intimacy, June 20 - 22 in Kean's Murphy Dunn Theatre. Selected from over 400 submissions, The Ansel Intimacy is the first of two scripts scheduled for expanded development as part of the 2014 Premiere Stages Play Festival. The Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts by playwrights with ties to the greater metropolitan area (New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut), and perfectly embodies the theatre's passionate and longstanding commitment to supporting emerging artists through the development and production of new plays. Mr. Delaney has received an honorarium and the opportunity to further develop his play through a professional, 29-hour rehearsal process culminating in three public readings. The Ansel Intimacy, directed by Padraic Lillis, will feature Eric Troy Miller as Tate, Scott Hudson as Ansel, and Kelley O'Donnell as Iris.

Friday performances will be held on May 2 and 9 (10 AM). A special Sunday performance (2 PM) will be held on May 4. There will be no Saturday performance on May 3.
