CST Presents AS YOU LIKE IT Through 3/6

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) rings in the New Year with William Shakespeare's romantic comedy As You Like It, staged by CST's Associate Artistic Director Gary Griffin. The acting company for Griffin's lush production includes a host of Chicago Shakespeare favorites who have collectively performed over 100 roles at CST. Among the returning cast members are Kate Fry, performing the role of Rosalind in her seventh appearance at CST; Chaon Cross as Celia in her sixth CST appearance; Matt Schwader as Orlando in his ninth appearance; Phillip James Brannon as Touchstone in his fourth appearance; and longtime collaborators Ross Lehman as Jaques and Kevin Gudahl as Duke Senior, who return to CST to perform their respective 13th and 27th roles. Chicago Shakespeare Theater's As You Like It runs now through March 6, 2011, in CST's Courtyard Theater. Tickets are $44-$75 with special discounts available for groups of 10 or more. Lansbury and Friends Pay Tribute to Terrence McNally, 3/28

Angela Lansbury and Friends (and what incredible friends she has!), an all-star salute to Terrence McNally, has been announced for Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Longacre Theatre at 7 pm. A benefit for The Acting Company, Ms. Lansbury has gathered Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Tyne Daly, Edie Falco, Roger Rees and Raul Esparza who will sing, share memories and recreate scenes from dozens of McNally hits. John Glover, Marin Mazzie, Joyce DiDonato, Malcolm Gets, Emily Skinner, Alexandra Silber, Bobby Steggert, Jason Danieley and Stephen Bogardus will round out the evening.

Full Cast Set for Encores! WHERE'S CHARLEY? Arcelus, Luker, McGillin, McClure, Worhsam, Paice & More!

Sebastian Arcelus, Rebecca Luker, Rob McClure, Howard McGillin, Jill Paice and Lauren Worsham have been cast in Frank Loesser's Where's Charley?, the final New York City Center Encores! production of the 2010-11. Where's Charley?, based on Brandon Thomas' Charley's Aunt, has a book by George Abbott and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. The show, running March 17 - 20, will be directed by John Doyle and choreographed by Alex Sanchez with music direction by Rob Berman.

Utah Shakespeare Festival Casts Christian Barillas as Romeo in ROMEO AND JULIET

Christian Barillas has been cast in the lead role of 'Romeo and Juliet' at Utah Shakespeare Festival, which will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season in 2011. The production will be directed by Artistic Director David Ivers and will run in the Adams Shakespearean Theatre June 23 through September 3.

Arena Stage Closes THE ARABIAN NIGHTS 2/20/11

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater is delighted to present The Arabian Nights, written and directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman (Metamorphoses). The production, presented in association with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Kansas City Repertory Theatre and Lookingglass Theatre Company, has been recognized as "Zimmerman's most theatrically complete and perfect creation" (Chicago Tribune).

Public Theater Adds 2 Performances to COMPULSION

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) has added two additional performances to the world premiere production of Rinne Groff's COMPULSION, directed by Oskar Eustis and featuring Hannah Cabell, Matte Osian and Mandy Patinkin. COMPULSION, which opens on Thursday, February 17 and must close on Sunday, March 13, has added two additional weekend performances on Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the added performances are on sale now at (212) 967-7555 or www.publictheater.org.

Court Theatre Presents THREE TALL WOMEN, Closes 2/13

Court Theatre continues its 56th season with Edward Albee's Three Tall Women, directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell. The production will close February 13, 2011 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue.

LuPone & Patinkin Reunite At The State, 2/12

Appearing together again after their Tony Award® winning performances in Evita, Patti LuPone joins Mandy Patinkin onstage for An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin. These Broadway legends will bring their critically acclaimed theatre concert to the State Theatre in Easton for one performance only on Saturday, February 12th at 8 PM.

American Conservatory Theater Premieres Peter Nachtrieb's LITTER, 3/3-3/19

The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program presents the world premiere of acclaimed San Francisco writer Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's Litter: The Story of the Framingham Dodecatuplets, directed by A.C.T. Associate Artistic Director Mark Rucker. Litter runs March 3-19, 2011, at Zeum Theater (Yerba Buena Gardens, Fourth and Howard streets, San Francisco).
