Bay Area theater veteran Joy Carlin (Hysteria, Bosoms and Neglect, The Price) helms this quirky romantic comedy, featuring Amanda Duarte, Gabriel Marin, Beth Wilmurt, and Danny Wolohan. JACK GOES BOATING plays at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley June 12 through July 19

The Wilma Theater welcomes a distinguished group of speakers on Monday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. for The Metamorphoses of Sigmund: Freud and His Afterlives, a panel discussion in conjunction with the East Coast premiere of Hysteria, by Terry Johnson. Directed by Jiri Zizka, the production brings the theater's 30th anniversary season to a close and runs May 13 through June 14, 2009.

John Barrowman is set to join the cast of Menier Chocolate Factory's La Cage aux Folles, stepping into the roll of Albin on 9/14. The roll is currently being played by Roger Allam.

Natacha Roi and Don Reilly take on the historical roles of Emilie Du Châtelet and Voltaire in the World Premiere of Lauren Gunderson's Emilie - La Marquise Du Châtelet Defends Her Life at the Petit Théâtre at Cirey Tonight at South Coast Repertory. Commissioned by SCR and directed by Producing Artistic Director David Emmes, Emilie will run from April 19 through May 10, 2009 on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Low-priced previews are available from April 19 through April 23. Opening night is April 24. Terry Johnson is to return to the Menier Chocolate Factory to direct Ben Travers' farce Rookery Nook. Previewing from 16 April with press night on 29 April, Rookery Nook runs until 20 June. Designs are by Tim Shortall with lighting by Jason Taylor. Casting for Rookery Nook will be announced shortly.
