MET MUSEUM PRESENTS has announced its January and February 2014 lineup.

Created by David Simon (HBO's 'The Wire,' 'Generation Kill' and 'The Corner') and Eric Overmyer ('St. Elsewhere,' 'Homicide: Life on the Street' and HBO's 'The Wire'), the Peabody Award-winning drama series TREME returns for its five-episode conclusion SUNDAY, DEC. 1

Los Altos, CA, November 22, 2013 – With a signature flair for programming and a nod to three of history's great jazz artists who are equally at home in the symphonic scene, Music Director and conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein has programmed an evening of music by Bay Area composer/pianist Taylor Eigsti and his artistic predecessors Dave Brubeck and George Gershwin in two performances January 17 and 18. The program includes the world premieres of new works by Bay Area native and internationally recognized jazz artist Taylor Eigsti along with Eigsti performing Gershwin's game-changing Rhapsody in Blue and a special tribute to late Bay Area composer/pianist and jazz innovator Dave Brubeck in works to be announced featuring Eigsti and saxophonist Dayna Stephens. Rounding out the evening will be Gershwin's overtures to Girl Crazy and Strike Up the Band. The concert will be given Friday, Janaury 17, at 8 pm at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center and Saturday, January 18, at 8 pm at Flint Center/DeAnza College. Deadline reports that Christopher Walken And Lenny Kravitz will co-star in LITTLE ROOTIE TOOTIE from writer/director Dan Algrant. Grammy winner composer Terence Blanchard will score original music for the film.

Fox Searchlight has released a new extended trailer for BLACK NATIVITY, a musical drama directed by Kasi Lemmons.

Fresh off a hugely successful, sold-out US summer tour, internationally-acclaimed jazz/soul chanteuse Nicole Henry has earned a 2013 Centric Soul Train Award nomination for Best Traditional Jazz Performance for her stellar performance of “Waiting in Vain,” off her latest album 'SO GOOD, SO RIGHT: NICOLE HENRY LIVE.' Henry is the only solo female artist in a male-dominated category, placing her in great company with fellow nominees including George Benson (featuring Wynton Marsalis), Jeffrey Osborne (featuring Chaka Khan), Tony Bennett (featuring Marc Anthony), and Terence Blanchard. This category is one of four awards determined by public votes and fans are encouraged to vote often. Tune in on Sunday, December 1 to watch the broadcast.

Blue Note Jazz Club, the iconic Greenwich Village jazz and blues venue that offers live musical performances every night of the week, is proud to announce an impressive roster of acts this September. Each performer is scheduled for two shows per night, 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. Doors open at 6:00 pm and reservations are strongly suggested. Julia Goodwin is the 2013 winner of the Great American Songbook Vocal Academy and Competition. The 15-year-old is from Baldwinsville, New York. During the finals concert on July 26, she sang two American standards: 'Dream A Little Dream of Me,' and 'Feeling Good.'

Several alumni and current ensemble members of The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago are featured artists at music festivals and opera companies at home and around the globe this summer.
