Peter Cambor and More Join Commonwealth Shakespeare's TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA; Full Cast Announced!

One of Greater Boston's most beloved traditions, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's 'Free Shakespeare On The Common' celebrates its 18th season with the comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Inspired by Rat Pack-era Vegas, this production brings together the talents of CSC's Artistic Director Steve Maler, music director Colin Thurmond and choreographer Yo-el Cassel. Playing July 6 - 28, 2013, performances are free and open to the public.

The 88 Release New Album FORTUNE TELLER

The 88 (www.the88.net) release today their sixth studio album, Fortune Teller. It will be available on CD, digital and for the first time ever, vinyl formats. Tomorrow, on June 12, The 88 will be holding their record release show at the Troubadour, supported by Aaron Embry.

BWW Reviews: SCR's Revival of THE FANTASTICKS Gets a Magical Makeover

Now performing at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa through June 9, Director Amanda Dehnert's beguiling new revival of THE FANTASTICKS comes to vibrant life as an old-timey vaudevillian review that just happens to have a love story woven into it. This clever, magical makeover, setting the piece in the midst of an abandoned, dilapidated amusement park called Rocky Point, has wonderfully spilled over into the show's staging, sets, costumes, and, yes, even the songs and characters, resulting in a refreshing new take on the 50-plus-years-old musical.

16th Annual BLACK BOX NEW PLAY FESTIVAL Runs Now thru 6/23

The Gallery Players of Park Slope, Brooklyn are hosting the 16th Annual Black Box New Play Festival. The Festival premieres 14 new plays, varying from 10 minute to full length productions, over the course of four weekends. Each weekend will contain a different program of plays, beginning May 30th and running to June 23rd. Performances will take place at 8:00pm on Thursday, Today and Saturday, as well as 3:00pm on Sunday.

NORTH AMERICA's Premiere on Discovery Draws 3.4 Million Viewers

Last night's premiere of NORTH AMERICA earned a 2.02 HH/1.47 P25-54 rating, 1.67 M25-54 rating and delivered 3.4 million viewers P2+. The premiere of NORTH AMERICA stands as the highest rated natural history telecast across key demos, including P25-54, since LIFE premiered on March 21, 2010.

FACT Theatre Presents THE SONG OF EDDIE KING Reading at Roy Arias Theatre Tonight

THE SONG OF EDDIE KING, a modern day Oedipus, will be presented as a reading by FRIENDS ALWAYS CREATING (FACT) THEATRE as part of a benefit evening being held tonight, May 20th at 7:00PM at Roy Arias Theatre, 300 West 43rd Street. The evening will consist of an hour long reading of the new play, an auction and raffle and wine and a talk back with the author of the play, Jamesai Schempp.
